“In my opinion this is the greatest pet store in the area. The staff here are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. My husky pup, Nymeria, loses her mind with excitement when I ask if she wants to go see Michelle, a managers at the Troy location. She and the other staff are worth their weight in gold. All of the staff members seem to love their jobs here and that makes for a great environment. If you need help there is always someone happy to help. If you would rather browse or shop alone they are happy to give you space.I have used the bath tubs that they have in the store to wash our pups in and it is a must if ever they are in need. They provide all of the products needed for a sparkling pooch and varieties of soaps, conditioners and more.The store has great high quality products. It is nicely organized, clean, and inviting. I cannot say enough good things about this store and this company. The other major bonus, in my opinion, is that the company is owned by local families. Local does not mean that you will sacrifice anything that bigger stores have to offer. I find it to be quite the opposite.”

“Skip the "Pet Mill Petsmart" and go to pet haven! I was looking for a parakeet for my son's birthday and I was afraid to buy from a big box store as I heard their birds can carry mites and diseases. “I started shopping at K-9 four dogs ago, probably over 30 years. Unbeatable prices on a great selection of supplies, food, toys, and treats for dogs, cats, pet birds, and wild birds. Pet food prices are usually better than online discount retailers.Great selection of show and grooming supplies; more variety of dog foods than most big box pet stores. Only a few small animal supplies, and nothing for fish or reptiles.Don't expect anything fancy: they have a no-frills, warehouse style; but the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. And if they're out of what you need, they'll be happy to tell you when it'll come in, or order it specially for you and call you when it arrives.**Can't find anyone to help? Ring the service bell on the glass counter!Phone service can be sketchy; it can take several tries to get through, as there's only one line. “When we first got our pup we brought him to groomer who told us not to get our pup groomed for two months…we got to the point where we thought Mateo couldn’t see us anymore…LoLWhen we found JJ, everything changed! Mateo was bathed and cut and was totally adorable. JJ keeps him cut the way we want…when my hubby came and explained his concerns about Mateo getting poop on his tail, JJ listened and adjusted Mateo’s cut to fix the issue.We once had to take Mateo to another groomer when JJ got sick. He wanted a cut down because Mateo was going to get neutered. They didn’t cut Mateo down even after seeing a picture of how JJ does it and then cut Mateo’s nose. Two weeks later we brought Mateo back to JJ. Mateo was nervous when JJ trimmed down his face but JJ was patient with him knowing of the traumatic experience. When Mateo was done he looked like his normal groomed self.I love the staff at Petco. They have all been so friendly. They are so helpful. When I ask if they think Mateo can fit something, they will just take the clothes and place it on him. They have helped with toy suggestions. I love the staff. I know Mateo loves it there too! He will cry if no one comes to the front desk when he gets there!Love JJ as my pups groomer. I will continue to come to him furever!”
