“On 2/29/2024 ,I took my 20year old dog to have a bad tooth pulled.He wasnt able to have it done,after preoperative lab work shows his kidney function wasn't in the best health,also his health is deteriorating secondary to advanced age,and his decreased appetite.I thank the doctor for his honesty in letting us know that pulling his tooth isn't in his best interest,as he more than likely wouldn't be able to handle the full procedure of having his tooth pull,and that he more that likely wouldnt make it thru.So home we went,as for now,we are just giving him lots of TLC ??”
“I will always cherish the extraordinary care our beloved Flushing Township Police K9, Colt, received from Riverside Animal Hospital throughout his life. From the time Colt was just eight weeks old until his final breath more than ten years later, he was treated with the utmost compassion, first from the late Dr. Brown and then from Dr. Koan. Veterinary Assistant Katie Brown, along with the entire staff, were truly remarkable.
Colt was such a gentle and loving soul. He adored visiting Riverside because the environment was always warm, and the staff was unfailingly kind. My wife Sheryl and I loved Colt dearly and he was an integral part of our lives. We had complete confidence and trust in Dr. Koan and Riverside Animal Hospital. It brought us great comfort knowing they were looking after Colt.
When Colt needed end-of-life care, Dr. Koan not only tended to Colt with immense care and compassion, but she also supported Sheryl and me when we were faced with making very difficult decisions to ensure Colt had as much time on earth with us as possible and still allow him to pass peacefully and with dignity.
We are deeply grateful to Dr. Koan and the entire team at Riverside Animal Hospital. The Community of Flushing is truly fortunate to have such dedicated individuals caring for our beloved animals.

“If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Dr Alison has been wonderful in helping take care of my horses. She is very patient and understanding with horse behavior. She has also been great at answering any questions and guiding me through treatments for my horses even after the visits.
