“Jerry at the 44th st. location spent well over an hour helping me find the perfect work boot. His encyclopedic knowledge of technical specs on each boot was impressive. Went through 5 different pairs of boots before we found the perfect one. I warned him I was picky and he was patient with the entire time. Excellent service!!!”
“Great local shoe store is a GR staple. Nike selection is fantastic and service is impeccable. Many sale styles of top lines (Dunks, Jordan's, AF1) in sale area. Recent SNKR drops in stock with multiple styles. This is a must stop for sneaker-heads. Only issue parking can be difficult to find on weekends and at busy times.”

It all came out to be less than I was expecting because of a deal they had which she informed me of. I was very appreciative of her help in my search on my visit. I really like my shoes, and my shoe polish was a much needed add on.”

Kate was very knowledgeable about the brand and was very informative. The other associate was super nice as well. “Prices here are all over the map, so check the tag of whatever you just found before you decide if you love it, but there are some really great deals tucked here and there. They are also the ONLY store in the city to carry women's size 4 and 4.5 shoes, and I'm very grateful that they do!”

“Visited on a Thursday evening. The parking lot is tricky to navigate because cars are flowing in toward Culvers. The store was a little busy with other families, including one with many kids running around. We bought three pairs of shoes, including a kids sandal (pictured below) with a $10 yellow sticker. When I got home, I realized they charged me $18 so I brought in my receipt and shoe box on Friday and they put $8+ back on my card.
Overall, decent experience and will return when my kiddos feet grow to size 11.”
“We discovered that if you own a NorthFace product that deteriorated you can return it for an exchange. Last week we took a jacket back but discovered that in order to return it, we had to go onto our computer and fill out all the paperwork. Because we are not 100% computer savvy, we asked the clerk, Nicholas, if he would do it for us — and he did! That is what we call excellent customer service. Thank you, Nicholas.!”
“My wife and I were heading to a wedding when I realized I HAD NO SHOES TO MATCH MY SUIT. I would have showed up looking like a fool. On the way to the wedding we found this store on google. Walked in and was immediately greeted. That right there is a good sign. One of the employees named Doug helped us out. This man was honest, kind, and extremely helpful. He knew immediately which shoe would complete my outfit. He even got me a pair of socks to go with them. Doug provided great service and helped put my shoe on and take it off every time. It was a great experience and I was happy I stopped by.”

“I had been a regular customer of WHBM for many years. I moved to Northern Michigan and retired, so no longer needed dressy/professional clothing. My mom passed away last week in GR and I needed a dress for her funeral. I first went to Macy’s and found that there were limited dressing rooms available and very long lines. I didn’t have time to wait. It dawned on me that WHBM is now in Woodland Mall. I walked into the store and Susan, the store manager, remembered me. She totally “styled” me. I cannot tell you how much that experience meant to me. Department stores cannot provide personal, knowledgeable attention from someone who knows their collection and what will work for you as an individual. I am firmly back in the WHBM fold whenever I am in GR. The clothing is beautiful and if you need a special piece, this is the place to go. Again, thank you Susan! You made my day!”

“Walked in around 5 p.m. The man and woman were very kind, friendly and welcoming. They both took the time to help find a proper pair of shoes, being that I will be on my feet for 12-16 hours shifts. They both seemed to genuinely care about making sure I had the right fit, even though I wasn't able to get adult shoes, they found the perfect pair of kids shoes that are quite comfortable, and cute! My heel does not pop out of the back of the shoe, nor does it rub which would only cause blisters. My toes are not smashed against the front either. Perfect amount of space, perfect fit. I've just moved to the area, and have had a heck of a time finding scrubs. I say this because they were even kind enough to help me find a different location to get scrubs, because every place I had been today either didn't have any, or not the correct size. Super friendly, kind, caring and compassionate folks. I'll definitely be back. Thanks again you two!!! I'm just sorry I didn't get their names.”
