“I really appreciate the convenience of being able to drop off so many items at the Salvation Army. The process was quick and easy, and the staff were friendly and helpful during my visit. It's great to have a place where I can donate things knowing they'll go toward a good cause. The location was organized and accessible, which made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back when I have more to donate!”
“Lots of cool finds, I got some cute ugg-style boots. It's a bummer that the store rewards systems aren't connected, I was hoping to use some rewards I thought I had at Holland. But overall, clean store with lots of trendy clothes.”
“Good prices, well organized. And helpful staff! The only thing I couldn’t find was rain gear for my guy. They had pretty much everything else I was looking for. Lots of high quality toys, clothes, and gear.”
“Fun thrift store with lots to choose from! Lots and lots of clothing and shoes for the family, plus sizes included, and you can even find a whole section with medical scrubs for those who work in health care. Tons of vintage clothing, dresses, boutique style items, and even more are available. Jewelry, books, small electronics, greeting cards, CDs, household and kitchen items, linens and more round out the offerings. There are some great sales and the store sometimes even has a party feel to it - in a great way as old and new customers come in and are welcomed.”
“WOW!!! On one hand I want everyone to know about this place and on the other I want to keep it a secret---as it's the perfect place for treasure hunting! Love the daily deals. Clean, great finds, friendly environment.”
“This is the best consignment shop that I have ever visited. The clothes are current with the style, the staff is friendly, and the merchandise is clean & organized.”
“This is my all-time favorite thrift store! I don't buy many new clothes or shoes these days, because I often stop here (or at the Goodwill) first and find everything I need so I don't have to go the the mall and pay full price. Literally, Every. Single. Day. I'm wearing at least one or two things that came from New 2 You.
This store is always incredibly clean and well-organized by the volunteers who run it. Proceeds from sales support Grand Rapids Christian Schools.
Many reviews mention prices being high and I've found that the clothes/shoes in the boutique section are marked slightly higher because they are often brand new, designer items with the tags removed. In my experience, these are still a bargain for the quality brands I come across (Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, J Crew, Lole, etc.) and I don't mind paying more for these items that I wear to work in a professional setting.
If your budget is tight or you don't work in an office, walk straight past the boutique section to the back of the store where clothes are $5 per item (and often on sale for 2 for $5). There is a large selection of quality items there as well. There are also rotating weekly sales, sometimes on clothes, sometimes furniture/home goods/books/sporting equipment.
Finally, be kind to the people who work here. They are volunteers and deal with a lot of customers (this place is always busy) and are doing their best. A smile and a "thank you" goes a long way. Happy second-hand shopping!!! :-)”
“I love the Northridge store the best. Only reason gave a 4 star is because it's Saturday and you are closed. Would like your website to get the hrs on there.”
“Great place to shop. They have a lot of great deals going on, especially certain tag colors with a certain percentage off. I will shop there again and the staff members were very polite.”
“Beautiful big, clean, well-lit thrift store with well-priced clothes and housewares. Separate area with local food. The prices are so affordable and the staff people are so helpful and nice.”
“I stopped by the 4 Mile Goodwill on January 5 in a snow advisory. There were only 2 cars in the parking lot. It was a nice leisurely treasure hunting day! All the employees were rearranging things and having a nice work day. I imagine it is nice to have those days when it is not that busy to prepare for the busy days.”
“Best Goodwill in the Grand Rapids area. The store is decent sized and more of the donations that make it on the floor are nicer than a lot of the other locations so you aren't searching through mostly junk just to find something worth buying. I miss the days before Goodwill had an online store though because they put all the best stuff online which doesn't usually seem worth it, especially when factoring in shipping. I also wouldn't donate to Goodwill but I'll still shop here, at least until the prices raise to the point of it no longer being appealing for me.”
“I love this location. It's minutes from my house, always well organized and has ample parking. I really like Mason and the rest of the regular staff. Everyone is so nice and funny, with a little quirkiness that always makes for a fun chat during checkout. Please continue to price items reasonably and treat your staff and customers well! Don't change!”
“The store was bigger than I expected and had a pretty fair selection of clothes. We were greeted nicely by the workers when we entered. Overall a good thrift store :)”
“I have been going to the Goodwill in Standale since it opened. I enjoy going there. The managers are very nice and knowledgeable. The workers are very nice and willing to help. Many a time I have asked what they think of a shirt, skirt, and even pictures for my walls. A few days ago I was there shopping and found a very nice tray with a bird on it. I was done shopping. I was towards the back of the store and the young lady that was on register was handed up front from the back . I told her I was ready to check out and she said she would met me at the register. She walked up to her register a little faster than me. As I was going up to the register a lady walked in the door and quickly to the register. I was a few steps from her with the cart in front of me. The young lady at the register politely explained to her that I was next in line. The lady in a not so friendly voice said she was there first. Then she wanted to know how the register worker know I was next. Before the worker could explain that she and I walked from that back to the front after me saying I was ready to go to check me out, the lady forcefully stated that she wanted to talk to a Manger. Myself and the worker both said to her that the worker would be happy to help her. I explained to the lady that I had plenty of time and she could go ahead. I had one thing so I didn't mind waiting. The worker started to help her and the lady said no and she wanted the manager and she could help me. The worker called for the manager and checked me out. It took maybe 2 minutes to check me out. I am sorry that I did not stay to tell my side of what happened. I shop many Goodwill stores all over Michigan and still my GO TO STORE is the Goodwill in Standale.”
“This is a nice Goodwill. I drove here several times from a distance and only found one item recently. Still, at least there was a variety of hard goods, not badly priced and I didn't fly in and out of the store. I stayed for a bit to consider some things. That's what a thrifter wants.”
“What makes this location one of the best is the employees. Numerous occasions, I've had to ask for help with an item or had them put some behind the register while I shop, etc, and every single person has been extremely warm and friendly. They have great attitudes and are happy to help out with whatever the need be, far exceeding typical great customer service standards, and it's such a welcomed pleasant experience each time I visit. Specifically today, Alyssa and Karina were working, and despite the store being a little busier for them with checking people out, they had smiles on their faces and handled what they had to do without ever getting frustrated or taking it out on the customer in some fashion. Alyssa was super helpful and did so without making me feel like a nuisance or feeling rushed. Karina and her worked great as a team to get all of us checked out while we all were conversing and laughing. It was a stress and anxiety free interaction and an especially enjoyable visit today because of these two employees. This location is one of my favorite goodwill stores because of the continued positive atmosphere that both Alyssa and Karina, along with all the other employees, constantly create here.”
“Great place to find bargains. They are having a clothing sale off their already low price. And unlike bigger thrift stores, I trust my money is going to help others and not going in the CEO bank account. I don't get to this part of town but when I do, I find treasures! I love thrifting especially at this location. If you are in the area, stop in”
“Renata is amazingly helpful and Gabe is always pleasant. The store is always clean and organized. When I asked Renata’s name so I could leave a review for her, all of the employees were singing her praises. She’s the manager here and apparently she’s adored by her employees. Super refreshing!”
“Clean store, but prices are high. Staff is friendly, items are categorized nicely. Overall, good location, just not my top location to visit, but would visit again.”
“Honestly I felt like this location was very clean and organized. I went to three total locations in the area and I have to say that this one had the largest variety as well as prices and organization with sizes. I was disappointed to find that this specific location didn't have a lot of items over 2x.”

“Receiving is on the southwest corner. Enter in the second drive way coming in off 28th st heading east. Circle around building. Will not unload you before 7am. Blind side backing. 1 dock. Was out in less then an hour. Friendly people.”
“My mom and I shopped here for clothes to wear on our vacation (lots of mountain climbing and hiking). They had a decent selection for our sizes, but very little for for my kids (ages 8-14). The prices were fair and the staff was friendly.”
“One of the few thrift stores around that still feels like a thrift store and not overpriced. Always well organized and love the $5 bag sales they have for clothes. Of course you will not always find something that is the reality of thrifting but I very rarely leave this location empty handed!”
“I accidentally found this outlet store. This store is full of everything that didn't sell in their local retail stores. You pay by weight for most items. I got a cart full for under $20. Next time I'm bringing a pair of gloves with me.”
“I had the pleasure of visiting the store for the first time today, senior day and I had a blast! I was there for three hours and could have spent many more. In fact after I got home I realized that I didn’t grab a lamp I had been admiring. Yes, I got a quick ride back and ran in to get it before it was gone. Looking forward to visiting again next time I’m in town visiting my family! Many treasures to be found, thank you very much!”
“Found the perfect swim suits for a great price name brand and all! Then i realized i lost my phone. My spouses phone said the gps was at goodwill. So the store workers were so diligent they helped me call my phone look for it and everything. Amazing people thank you so much!!”
