Meijer in Detroit, MI, is a long-standing, family-owned grocery store that has served the community since 1934. It offers a wide range of products, including fresh produce from local growers, custom-cut meats, seafood delivered six days a week, and baked fresh daily bread. The store features low prices across more than 40 departments, from pet brands to the latest fashions, with weekly specials and savings through the mPerks program. The store is generally clean and well-stocked, providing convenient shopping for neighbors. However, some reviews mention that prices can be higher than other stores like Walmart, and the quality of customer service varies. Certain areas, such as the bathrooms and bottle return machines, are often criticized for being dirty or inoperable. Customer experiences also note that staff attitudes can sometimes be unfriendly or unhelpful, and some shoppers feel the store's upkeep is inconsistent, especially in areas frequented by people of color. Despite these issues, Meijer remains a popular shopping location with a wide selection of products and ongoing efforts to improve the shopping experience.
Every single time I want to return bottles it’s always a hit or miss, but usually a miss cause every time i come for that specific reason the bottle return is closed, a time waster. On top of that y’all produce of fruits and vegetables is never fresh. This location sucks.
