“I met a saint on Wednesday. I was leaving the pisser at this gas station. A old man walked by with one of those veterans hats. This hat had the flag raising of Iwo Jima on it. He was 92 years old. I said "hey devil" and he looked back at me. I asked if he was there and he gave me his dates on island. During our conversation (which was basically a stare at each other, a lot can be said with that type of interaction) both of our mouths tried to make words but nothing came out. I shook his hand and said thank you. The look on his face was one of the best stories I ever heard.”

“The drive thru is very convenient for me, since I have difficulty walking or carrying more than one small bag with handles. The young lady is very pleasant. However, I tried to get a refund for my 2 previous individually purchased prescriptions, because the new insurance information wasn't used after my 1st order, which cost me nearly $40 vs $0, each on the 1st, and 4th separate prescriptions.The older lady said she could NOT do it, since it was in late January! I told her how to credit the card if she could tell me the last 4 digits of the credit card, but she told me in no wasted words, that would be impossible! I wonder why she couldn't look me in the eye when telling me. ? I will be calling the head pharmacist soon to rectify the problem.”

“The Indian/American CITIZENS who bought the place from the long time previous owners are awesome. This is not one of the chain stores in the area, but is a husband/wife run business, with occasional help from their sons. Good people, nice place. I purposely stop there. The Pokagon area needs this store.”

“Happy Jake’s is awesome! Always there whenever I need to pick up a gallon of milk or a dozen minnows before I hit the lake. And the food?! Pizza and burgers are top notch! Good selection of beer, wine and spirits too. It’s a one stop party store that checks off all the boxes. Way to go Happy Jake’s crew!”
