“My fiancé has purchased Mikimoto pearl necklaces for his daughter and me at Ahee and received wonderful service during both visits. Most recently, he bought both my wedding bands, his wedding band, and my Shinola watch - we were very pleased working with Lisa (please ask for her). She was patient and professional, and continued to help us upon multiple visits. We drove over three hours from Up State just to shop at Ahee - they truly live up to the wonderful service and quality that they advertise.”

“We just had our grandfather clock repaired via a house call. The technician did a great job. Fixed the problem, oiled the parts, and gave us lots of advice to keep our clock running. Our total experience was excellent. I would highly recommend Roseville Clock Shop.”

“These low rated reviews are so inaccurate - they are family/locally owned and great people. Howard's has treated me like a #1 customer since the moment I called them and subsequently walked into the store. They treated me with respect, heard exactly the ring I wanted to create for my fiancé, and they did it perfectly and exactly the time frame they guaranteed (3 weeks). I'm here purchasing my wedding bands and they are still treating me like a VIP. I will never go anywhere else for jewelry.”

“They were very patient with me as I am very indecisive. They made sure we picked the perfect wedding bands and even added extra diamonds for me that was within my budget! Highly recommended”

“My late father shopped here for years buying multiple pieces for himself or my late mom. We stopped in today and they knew who my dad was and said some wonderful things about him. Bought some earrings for my daughter and a pocket watch for my husband. Make this your go-to place for wonderful service and great prices.”

“Been dealing with Jimmy at Maloof's since '85 best jewelry store in SCS. They did a fantastic job transferring my MIL writing onto a piece of jewelry so I could give it to my wife for her birthday, her parents are no longer with us. Thanks again for another great piece of jewelry, she loves it.”

“Good customer service, they followed up with me the next day on what they had found for my engagement ring. Bonnie and Karlie were very nice I didn’t end up going with them, otherwise I’d give it 5 stars”

“Writing this review as both a hotel guest and a wedding guest, so speaking to both the Shinola hotel stay AND their event space experience! In short, everything was basically immaculate and while Shinola is extremely pricey, they really deliver on the level of quality and service that makes it worth it! Hotel: Everything about it is delightful. Probably the biggest selling point to me is the fact that Shinola is dog-friendly! They are so welcoming to dogs - they have a terrace in the middle of the hotel where you can take the dogs out rather than having to navigate all the way back down to the street level! My main frustration with the hotel was the check-in process. I was hoping for early check in, which they were really good at communicating with me wasn't going to be a guarantee. So the day I was coming in, early check in sadly didn't work out, but regular check in was at 3 pm and so when I showed up at 3 pm on the dot and a room still wasn't available for me to check in to. They said that one should be ready in 15-20 minutes and so I went to park my car in a nearby parking lot (you can do valet or find your own parking, the price is comparable). When I came back almost 30 minutes later, the room still wasn't available. At this point, I think there was a bit of miscommunication because while I would have preferred a room on the floor with the pet terrace, in the interest of time (I had a wedding to get ready for!) I just needed an available room regardless of which floor, so the front desk was able to get me checked into a different room and we were on our way. Again, such lovely customer service because all the front desk attendants remembered me and my dogs and would follow up throughout the stay! Shinola has 24/7 room service, which is lovely to see. The food isn't the same kitchen at the San Morello restaurant at the base of the hotel, but it's still very tasty! They also offer late check out if you need it. The rooms themselves are amazing, with high quality bedding, linens, everything! Everything is beautifully designed and dreamy! Truly just like how I would imagine Shinola to stage a home! As for the event space, my goodness JUST as delightful! It's a bit of a maze to get from the hotel lobby to the event space, but doable! There is also a separate entrance to just the event space itself. The glasshouse is beautiful and such a dream wedding venue! Again, all those working the event were so friendly and kind, great bartenders, AMAZING food at the wedding, such comfortable seats and other amenities that just really set this apart from other wedding venues. I know it must be so expensive to get married here, but you definitely see the difference in the quality! The two big observations that took away a slight bit from the overall experience were: 1) The glasshouse event space is so stunning and filled with greenery, but the hanging plants in the air were very obviously fake, which was a bit mystifying. Would really love to see real plants in these and more diversity in their plant selection as most of theirs were relatively basic! 2) This one is the big doozy, but the day I was at Shinola was a very humid, muggy day in Detroit. There were some sprinkles throughout the afternoon and evening, but never enough to break the humidity. What's surprising to me is how humid it felt throughout the entire Shinola building. Not just in the glasshouse event space, which is to be expected given that it almost mimics a greenhouse, but truly everywhere else. On my hotel floor as I walked through the hallways, it would be so hot and muggy. It was to a point where I wonder if the hotel did not have central air or good enough insulation. Thankfully my hotel room had great A/C, but there was such a shocking difference between inside my hotel room and out in the hallway on several of the floors that I went to that it was truly significant enough to note here! But overall, I absolutely loved my little staycation in Detroit at Shinola. I was so grateful I got to do this stay with my dogs AND cel”

“Marissa and the other staff at Kay Jewelers are AWESOME & AMAZING! My Aunt went for their diamond and design event to replace a gemstone that was damaged in a very special and sentimental ring. She left the store very happy and satisfied. The results were better than she had imagined.Marissa cleaned her other jewelry and had her almost in tears. I was too...just from the service to their custom work; they are professionals whose expertise is unmatched. Ill be back to get something special for myself at their next event. Thank you for being so nice and making our day. ?”
