“The Toledo zoo is a great adventure for the whole family. They provide a absolutely amazing display of holiday lights. They have an enjoyable train ride. Along with a carousel located next to the train entrance. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Also, the aquarium is definitely one of my favorite spots to go with the kids.”
“Visited Ruby’s Cat Cafe and SO enjoyed it! Loved my time with the sweet and beautiful cats. Appreciated the fun cat-themed art everywhere. The staff were friendly and enthusiastic. I got some delicious hand decorated cat cookies and some toys for my own rescue cats. Great Place!”
“Really cool shop with more than decent prices and very knowledgeable/helpful staff and fellow customers. A down to earth place with a deep community feel. Love my new bike. Highly recommend.”
“This place is amazing specially if you’re low income or medium income and can’t afford some of the stuff that your insurance doesn’t pay for which is ridiculous. The driver, the people in the office and answer your phone. They are just so nice and polite. I’m glad I googled how to get a cane And they came up although they have a lot of other services that they help you with also.”
“PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT YOUR RECOVERY
I can’t say enough good things about Todd Crandell and Racing for Recovery.
Racing was the first real treatment center I attended. I had been to The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center before, but that is very different from treatment centers and not part of this review.
I first came to Racing in 2023 and I am back in 2026 after learning hard lessons in other treatment centers. After leaving Racing the first time, I worked at two treatment centers and was also a client at another. Most of them say they are different, but in reality, they are very similar.
In many treatment centers, groups are loosely run. People are often on their phones, talking during group, vaping, or leaving multiple times during a session. Staff are generally not well prepared and do not consistently enforce structure. Racing for Recovery is not like that. It is structured, consistent, and focused on accountability. Clients are expected to participate fully and take recovery seriously. That level of structure makes a real difference in outcomes.
One of the biggest benefits of Racing is the consistency. Expectations do not constantly shift, and the environment does not allow for a lot of distractions or “checking out” mentally. It creates a setting where people can actually focus on recovery instead of just going through the motions. The staff are involved and truly care about client well-being. I cannot say the same for many other places. I am not saying there are not good people working in other treatment centers, but this has been my experience.
Another benefit is the culture. At Racing, there is a strong sense of accountability and peer support. Clients are around others who are also serious about change, which helps create a more focused environment. In many other programs, there is a wider mix of motivation levels, which can make it harder for people who are trying to stay serious about recovery.
A common issue I have seen across many programs is how discharge planning and employment timelines are handled. Clients are typically given about 90 days to find work and housing, which is understandable. The issue is that clients are usually in PHP level of care at first and only begin job searching once they move to IOP.
I have also seen this first-hand while working in treatment centers. In level-of-care meetings, the case manager, group facilitators, and therapist may all agree that a client is ready to step up to IOP so they can begin working and preparing for discharge. However, I have also seen situations where higher-level staff review insurance and determine the client can be approved for two more weeks of PHP. In those cases, the decision is often tabled despite the clinical team’s recommendation. I have seen this happen many times. This delay can leave clients without enough time to secure work or housing, which increases the risk of relapse or having to restart treatment. I have seen both outcomes.
I hope this helps someone who is serious about recovery. Racing is a structured and disciplined program, but it offers real opportunity, accountability, consistency, and support that I have not found elsewhere.”

“Pray before you go if you're looking for something particular as I was. I pray so I'll find exactly what I need so I won't over spend. It's pretty cool when you find some lovely treasures. I found some great items!”
“I cannot tell you how much I love this place. It’s one of my favorite places in Toledo. I’ve attended classes with their Art Director Lorenzo and had so much fun. The classes were well planned and informative. Lorenzo made sure everyone was successful no matter their skill level. The gallery is amazing and show cases talent in our area. I’ve also attended events such as Dia de Los Muertos, pig roast, etc and the food has been amazing. It’s an incredible facility and it just keeps getting better every year!!”

“Took the in person portion of the blended BLS class at the Toledo Red Cross location and had a great experience! The instructor was very informative and helpful during the hands on portion of the class, making it super easy to understand the objectives and gave real life scenarios to practice CPR AED and BVM training on the mannequins. Would recommend to anyone renewing their BLS certification.”
“I was an "at risk" youth when I was young- there wasn't anyone like Coach Harry or IBC around my neighborhood (I wish there was- could've helped the old neighborhood a lot!)I went to IBC as a 40+ year old local Teamster Trucker, who finally quit smoking after doing in for 33 years and putting on about 40-45 lbs in the process of doing it. I needed to get back in shape- doctors should prescribe the IBC!From what I have seen there, the place means the world to a lot of people for different reasons, and positivity and hard work (self accomplishment) are contagious there.God Bless the IBC, Coach Harry, all staff, all sponsors and all boxers who make the place so +-Jo Nielsen”
“My son has done theatre here for many years and we couldn't be happier with them. Aimee, Rick, Pat, Trina, and all the teachers have shaped my child's life as he's moved from Players Company, to Ensemble to the Teen program.”
“Great people. Great trials! We drive from Columbus for every trial! Plenty of grass to walk in and a large parking lot with some shaded spots. Not.kuch crating inside but there is enough for a fair number of dogs (just close together).”
“@SisterChristy This is my prayer over my marriage. The Most High Blessed me with a loving man who knows the Lord Christ Jesus as his Savior. However, my husband is battling a #drugaddition and duality dwelling of unclean spirits. I pray everyday that If God's Righteous Will, my husband will be delivered by a Born Again Brother or Sister that is dwelling with The Holy Ghost 1 John 4:1 I can Not do that, I tried and failed, at God's Providence over my own Salvation, I was moved from San Antonio to Toledo. What we often do not understand in the season of Personal Repentance To Christ is that His Plan Is The Best Plan. “I have used Zepf for primary care, psychiatry, DBT therapy, DBT skills group, case management, and job development. I have been a client of Zepf’s for over 6 years, and I highly recommend them to anyone seeking mental health or addiction services. I require more services than most, and have gone through other agencies in the city- this is the best for anything I’ve ever needed. My team treats me with respect, they listen to me, and also push me to improve. Zepf and my team of clinicians have saved my life.”
“I really loved the friendly atmosphere and the spacious pool. It's nice to be able to swim and not be on top of each other. The only issue is parents not watching there kids or monitoring there behavior!”

“I gave 5 stars so people see they won't get paperwork in the mail to request test results. I asked several times and never once received forms by mail. Promedica is stopping me of my right to my records by mail. Michigan Govt should investigate this issue. I spoke to them on the phone. I don't use mychart.”

“To all the negative reviews. You all can become foster parents, work for children services or volunteer if you want to make a difference. That's what I thought. Everybody has a mouth but their body has no action. Just a bunch of reactive and subjective people.”
“Paul - Your hard work as a donation attendant truly makes a difference! You handle every donation with care, stay organized under pressure, and treat every donor with respect. Your dedication keeps everything running smoothly thank you again for all you do Paul!!!”
