Pet Stores & Supplies

Mares-Z-Doats Feed Pet & Garden
1400 Division St, MarquetteIf you're looking for a local store with heart, knowledge, and real commitment to the community, Mares-Z-Doats in Marquette is everything a local supply store should be.
We recently visited while sourcing seed and supplies for a wildlife habitat project on our hunting land, and the staff could not have been more helpful. Jessica, in particular, went above and beyond—helping us identify which clover seeds were already pre-inoculated, tracking down the last bag of inoculant we needed, and assisting us in searching for seed storage solutions. She even offered to reach out to their suppliers when certain native seeds weren't available in-store.
It’s not just the service that stands out—it’s the local knowledge, the willingness to help, and the clear dedication to serving the needs of the U.P. community.
Bonus: Mares-Z-Doats is pet-friendly, so feel free to bring your dog along for the ride. Around here, that matters.
Whether you're picking up seed, pet supplies, animal feed, or garden tools, you’ll find more than just a product—you’ll find people who care. Highly recommended.

PetSmart
3550 US-41, MarquetteTook my dog in for a grooming appointment today with Kathy R. My dog is not very social and sometimes doesn’t have the best reactions around people/animals she is unfamiliar with, causing me anxiety about bringing her anywhere. It’s been quite some time since my girl has been groomed and was way overdue for nail trimmings especially. I have unsuccessfully attempted to do it myself, more times than I can count. Kathy was absolutely amazing with my dog. From the moment we got there, she was so kind and patient with her. She kept me updated on how she (my dog) was doing throughout the visit which I very much appreciated. My dog came back super fresh and clean with beautifully finished nails. 11/10 would recommend Kathy R!
I’ll also mention that Kella (this name may be incorrect, and my apologies if so, but she’s the trainer there) was super friendly and provided me all kinds of information on their training classes. I may take advantage on some upcoming deals for those as well!

Poets Pet Parlor
1202 Wright St, Marquette⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We’ve used Poet’s Pet Parlor many times now for both doggie daycare and boarding, and we couldn’t be happier.
The staff is incredibly friendly, and it’s clear they genuinely care about the dogs in their care. Our girl always comes home happy, well-cared for, and completely tuckered out from all the playtime! It’s such a relief knowing we can trust them to treat our dog like family.
Highly recommend to anyone looking for a safe, fun, and reliable place for their pet!

Animal Medical Center of Marquette
3052 Wright St, MarquetteDr. Emily is the most compassionate and attentive veterinarian I’ve had in my 15 years as a pet owner. She provided thoughtful, long-term care for my dog Landon and showed genuine empathy when we ultimately had to say goodbye.
With my two senior dogs, she continues to be supportive, respectful, and honest—never judgmental, never profit-driven. She listens, takes concerns seriously, and focuses on comfort and quality of life.
Transitioning from three dogs to two aging ones has been emotionally difficult, and her care has made it so much easier. I trust her completely and cannot recommend her highly enough.

Marquette Veterinary Clinic
2270 US Hwy 41 South, MarquetteI have been taking my mini Aussie to Marquette Veterinary Clinic for the past eight years and my two year old doodle since she was a puppy.
Dr. Brauer has an incredible ability to diagnose and treat health conditions that other vets have missed. His expertise has been a lifesaver for my dogs, uncovering underlying issues and ensuring they receive the best possible care. He’s also helped manage their seasonal allergies with effective and affordable treatments, which has made a huge difference in their quality of life.
I started bringing my oldest dog there 8 + years ago while I was in college, and the team was always so understanding of my situation as a college student. They worked with me to find affordable ways to care for my dogs without ever compromising the quality of treatment.
Dr. Brauer and his son, Dr Brauer Jr. have an approach to veterinary care that is always honest and compassionate. They never push unnecessary treatments and they are always there when you need them. In emergencies, they have gone above and beyond (countless times) showing up in the middle of the night or even on weekends to help. Their dedication and kindness are unmatched.
I truly couldn’t say better things about this team. If you’re looking for a vet who is knowledgeable, dependable, and truly cares about your pets, this is the place to go!

Dead River Coffee Roasters
119 W Baraga Ave, MarquetteI had such a fantastic time visiting this coffee shop; it is easily one of the best spots to grab a cup in the area. The coffee is roasted to perfection, and you can really taste the quality in every single sip. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect place to settle in with a book or catch up with friends. Velodrome Coffee Company
1125 N 3rd St, MarquetteExcellent coffee on 3rd street. Not too much space inside but we haven't had any trouble finding seats. The whole setup is targeting the college population and so those are the people you meet in there. Chill atmosphere overall, a bit minimalstic though. Staff was sweet and made an excellent cappuccino. I would come here again any time!

Drífa Brewing Company
501 S Lake St, MarquetteThe Drifa Brewing Company and the Lakeshore Grill truck compliment each other for food and drinks!
We ordered our food from Lakeshore Grill and given a buzzer, then went into the Drifa Brewing Grill.
The inside had high tables and chairs, accompanied with an area for bands or entertainment.
Mike greeted us with a friendly hello. I wasn't sure what I wanted to drink so he provide a few samples. The red slushy drink (can't remember the name) was very good. We engaged in a nice conversation and learned more about the winters in Marquette.
I also got a Dr. Pepper. As we were leaving I placed it on the roof of the car and we drove to an antique store. It was still there when we stopped. See photo.
When the food came we were amazingly surprised! I'm a fan of a good Swiss Mushroom burger, and this one ranked on the top of my list.
The fried onions were so different than any other onion rings I've ever had. The were not shaped like a ring, but in a way to easily pick up and dip in their homemade dressing. Yummy.
They also had outdoor seating. Patrons came and sat outside, enjoying the beautiful weather.
I highly recommend these Drifa Brewing and Lakeshore Grill as your places to eat and drink when in Marquette..
