A little over a year ago my cat didn’t have a vet. She got sick. I called every vet in Marquette, Ishperming, Negaunee, Gladstone, Rapid River and Escanaba. EVC was the last one I called and they got my cat an appointment the next day. She was a new patient. All the others vet clinics were not taking no new patients. I knew right away they cared about my cat’s health when talking to them in the phone. They treated my cat and she’s a healthy 7 year old cat.

As someone visiting the area, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful with giving recommendations, which I really appreciated. Everything was also super affordable—I paid only $2.50 for a small cone, and it was the perfect amount!
The building itself is pretty small and can feel a little crowded when it gets busy, but honestly that added to the local, small-town feel that I loved. Definitely worth stopping at if you’re in the area and want an affordable sweet treat!

3525 Airport Road, EscanabaI haven't made a leisurely drive up to Escanaba for fresh af Upper Hand beers and burgers since the fire at Moe's. I realized this on the way nort' and stopping for a case of camping beers and a pint. Nice little taproom and very solid craft beers. We got ambers, black ales, and pale ales in the way up and the Upper Hand maple lager at a local store later. Nice change up from our regular beers on vacation too!

We stopped at Dobber’s in Escanaba while driving through on US-2 from Wisconsin over toward the Lower Peninsula, and it turned out to be a fantastic road trip pit stop. Finding good pasties open on a Sunday can be tough in this area, so having them open and ready was a huge plus.
The environment is straightforward and completely non-pretentious. It’s the kind of down-to-earth local spot where you can walk right in, grab a warm, hearty meal, and be back on the road in no time.
The food did not disappoint. The pasties hit the spot hot, and filled with great flavor. Beyond the savory options, their homemade desserts were delicious and made for a great treat to eat along the rest of the drive.
If you are traveling through the southern U.P. and want solid, traditional local comfort food in an easy, laid-back setting, Dobber's is a reliable pick. Will definitely be stopping back in next time we make the drive!
