The selection is great, the atmosphere is cozy, and there's always something new to discover. It's the kind of bookstore where you can take your time browsing and never feel rushed.”

“They have a great selection of both new and used items. Fantastic place for comics and funko pop! Not the best at trade in vale for your items. Feels like they have 80 to 90% margin on their used items. It's better to sell your items elsewhere.”

“Great experience here back in October. I'm a klutz by nature. Very uncoordinated. I walked into the store, pulled my phone out of my purse - and watched my phone go flying into the beautiful display of Christmas ornaments along the wall. The crashing sound it made was a nice addition. The soundtrack of my life. The lady behind the counter came running out to make sure I was okay. She wasn't concerned about the ornaments or that I was a potential bull in a china shop. I will be back! (that's a promise, not a threat) but I will leave my phone in the car.”
“The bookstore is very well stocked with everything you could possibly need for a class. The store is huge! The downsides are that there is only one register usually and the card reader never works so, it's time consuming and the parking, especially when busy and bad weather, is very inconvenient. There are only 3-4 parking spaces in front, with a few handicap parking spaces. If those are filled, you have to go to the next parking lot and walk. If you've ordered a lot of stuff or it's raining, it's a pain in the butt. But, the staff there are nice and try to be helpful. With a little patience, open parking, and an off-peak hour visit, you can be in and out in under 10 minutes.”
“A great variety of vintage magazines and comics with many other collectibles of all kinds tucked into the nooks and crannies. If you have an interest in comics and magazines but particularly vintage pulp paperbacks you are not likely to find a better selection in southeast michigan. Also - the owner is a friendly, well spoken guy. Chat him up!”

“New owners have taken over as of the 1st of July. Customer service seems to be something that is cared about now. The Store seems to be getting organized and shifted around. It seems they are trying to express goodwill to change the negative narrative that was created around this store. Very much looking forward to coming back to see the progress after the disaster that was the last year at this store. Bigger, brighter, more helpful and can’t forget about the amazing selection of puzzles, funko pops, games, and of course fun.”

“Paperback Writer Books in downtown Mt. Clemens is the kind of used bookstore you go in for one thing and leave forty-five minutes later wondering where the time went. The selection is great — the sort you actually want to dig through, not just shelves of the same five paperbacks everyone already donated.
But the real reason to come back is Lisa. She greets you at the door and treats you like a guest in her home, not a customer she's keeping an eye on. It makes the whole place feel like somewhere you belong.
It's also connected to the record store next door, so you can browse books and crate-dig in one stop. Honestly, you cannot go wrong here. Go say hi to Lisa and bring home something good.”
