“Excellent service at Tuffy Auto on Pierson Rd. I brought my car in because my tire kept losing air. They found that my wheel was bent and is not repairable. Unfortunately I can’t afford to replace it this week but they put the spare on for me at no cost. They didn’t try to sell me anything I didn’t need or pressure me to buy something I can’t afford right now. I will be back for sure!”

“Super honest and fair prices. My car went down took it to him to look at. Was told it was the starter. He asked if it was replaced recently. I thought another place had done it but he looked it up and they had replaced about a year ago. Was told it was under warranty still. I had no clue and would have paid for a new one not knowing this. But he was honest and informed me it was covered no charge.”

It might’ve been a fluke thing he said, but we’re going to dig deeper. “I've been going to this shop since I was a kid tagging along with my dad to get his car fixed. About 30 years and 3 vehicles later, whenever I'm back in town and have issues big or small, Skidmore has always been there for me and has been so good to me. The whole staff is really knowledgable, fair and take pride in their work.
Recently, I was traveling across state when my vehicle had issues. The whole thing was rather disheartening but the only up side was that I was close enough to this shop to get it towed in.
Despite all my positive experiences here, the laundry list of issues had me worried. After hearing the estimate, I was stunned and relieved at the same time. It was rough but the estimate was more than fair.
I've thrown some (unintentional) curve balls at them since I have never been great at auto repair but no matter how bad it's been and no matter how worried I am, they have delivered and Kevin (both of them) have always been cool as a cucumber and really excel at helping me understand and calming my automotive anxieties.
I really can't say enough positive things about this shop. Especially in today's world of poor business practices, you will always be treated fairly and given accurate information for your repairs. So many times they have gone above and beyond for me and I'm not alone. They communicate along the way so you are kept in the loop and are made a part of the process.
I'd be willing to bet that you cannot find a better service in the tri-city area. I imagine that could probably be said about the entire state.
It's a staple within its community and a beacon to the world of auto repair. I could never trust a mechanic more than I trust these guys.
