“Glad those with nasty reviews got them out of their way, Jenn and her team tried her best with what they had. Now the store is being remodeled. Let’s go out of way, and show some positivity to the new look and the hard work the team put in this location ?”
“Love shopping at the base! My only concern is the dates of the expiration dates! The cost of the food is cheaper than Meijer, Kroger, and city stores. However, the expiration dates on cheese, bacon, and beef sometimes not followed! I go to the commissary once every 2 months. When I go, I spend approximately $600 when I go! To me, the commissary can't be beat! For people who are not veterans or service members, they are not aware of the savings. Trust me, the prices can't be beat!”
“Aldi is pretty great all around and this particular location is my favorite one.
Lucky me, I have agoraphobia, anxiety and sensory processing issues. Grocery shopping is an ordeal that I have to psych myself up for. Aldi is uniquely awesome because the choices are limited. I don’t have to waste my time wondering which brand is best or doing price comparisons.
Their produce is decent; some things better than others. The organic baby spinach and French cut green beans are my favorites and they’re consistently good. They have a nice selection of quality meat, cheese and eggs.
The painfully bright, obnoxious lighting in stores always sets me on edge, but Aldi isn’t bad at all. It’s somehow less harsh than the average grocery store and they never play music over the P.A.
I love, love, love that they installed self-checkout stations. It’s my policy to avoid human interactions whenever possible, but on the occasion that I do require assistance the employees here are always very friendly and helpful.
Their plastic bag policy rocks my world. Bring your own reusable bags, collect empty boxes while you shop or pay for bags at checkout. Yes! Why doesn’t everyone do this? If people saw plastic bags as having monetary value, a lot of environmental issues would become far more manageable.
The concept of paying a refundable quarter for a cart is also brilliant. It means the parking lot is never littered with strays that will roll into your car and dent it. It means money is saved because they don’t need an extra employee to go outside and wrangle them. And that means you’ll find organic free-range chicken eggs for at least $2 less here than at Meijer or Kroger.”
“David is the nicest guy, I go out of my way to come here for anything I need. Prices are all below average, and on the rare occasion he doesn’t have what I’m looking for, he will do everything he can to get it and set it aside for me. You just don’t get this type of service in a party store much anymore.”
“Amazing place, highly recommend, new owners, give them a try. Thank you for supporting and donating to the Once Upon A Time Storybook Gala sponsored by the Friends of the Chesterfield Library+”
“They have a large selection of meat and frozen meat as well. The staff is always friendly and immediately asks you if you need any assistance with anything. Definitely recommend buying the heart livers for your pets.”
“Nice, rather small but sufficient, clean, good quality . I prefer this store over the Meijer across the street. Finally we have another option close by with better prices and good organic and healthy food.”
“Would give a five. However myself and many people I know wished that mushrooms were not put in lots of the to go foods. It leaves a lot of people out from buying items with mushrooms in it due to allergies. Would love to buy the meatloaf weekly….”
“I love any story that you're able to get restaurant quality ingredients. I buy a lot of my spices here. You have to try the battered cheese sticks. you can thank me later”
“Stop at this store everyday and the owners are amazing. They have ordered specialty products for me. They are very friendly and have such a great attitude everyday. Very big variety of items. I will continue to go here daily!!”
“I delivered to that north, smaller building without a name tag with docks on a side. The receiver will break a seal. Very friendly folks. Very fast in & out.”
“This is a great place to pick up sandwiches and pizzas. Everything has always been on point and the staff is friendly and helpful. The cooler is the closest around so drinks are ice cold”
“Had to write a review specific to the bakery! My daughter's birthday party is tomorrow (1/5) & I had planned to go get a cake from Costco. Not wanting to make the drive, I decided to grab a cake from the fridge at Vinckiers & if my daughter liked it, I'd order one here instead. We ALL enjoyed it so I went back on Thursday to place the order. I told them she technically wanted Disney princesses as a "theme" but anything pink and super girly would also make her happy. They delivered tenfold! She's obsessed with roses (her middle name, named after her great grandma Rose) so she absolutely loved seeing it. They also threw in a free mini doll cake for her and even included the dress for the doll after we removed it from the cake. We're so happy with the half sheet cake and couldn't get over how sweet it was that they gave her something special. She was beaming!”
“I have lived in town for a few years but never made it in to DG until I had a FedEx drop off to take care of. DG is the only FedEx services location in Richmond.
I was talking into the store with an empty water bottle to throw away, and a kind associate grabbed a trash bin so I could throw my items away. I expect that kind of service at a fancy hotel, but not a convenience store. I learned the helpful associate’s name is Leslie.
I look forward to going here again soon!”
“Wow, hands down, best dollar general. It was clean, super organized, super pleasant and nice staff. This should be an example of what a Dollar General should be. It made me want to shop instead of just running in and grabbing what I need and running back out.”
“Closest to home and has EVERYTHING that I would need! A very friendly cashier works there, she helped me find the right swifter duster. I was able to make a receipted exchange with no problems for a previous item I had bought three weeks prior.”

“Like all stores since COVID hit stock is not as readily available at times but they've done some nice remodeling. The staff has always been helpful to me even when they're busy.”
“Love their prices and they sell good tasting products even tho it's their brand, I can barely tell a difference. They're brands also have popular flavors. And they are the only store I found that sells pop in a 12 pk for 5 something.”

“You'll be forgiven if you drive by without taking a second look. From the outside, it looks like it might be a tax office, or possibly a business that closed down. But, look for the flickering OPEN sign. There most definitely is a business here. This is exactly the sort of small grocery store you would expect to see in Mexico, with a wide range of items from snacks to cooking ingredients to cleaning products. There is an entire wall devoted to dried peppers, from guajillos to ancho chilis to chile de arbol, and likely several others you have never heard of before. They cost $1.99 for a 3 ounce bag, significantly cheaper and better quality than your specialty grocery store, like Nino Salvaggio's.There is a small refrigerated section that includes massive, beautiful tomatillos, and nopales (cactus). You will seriously never see better representations of either of those at any grocery store. Then, there are the snacks. These are all imported, and the type you would expect to find in Mexico. The only brand you may recognize are Takis...which of course is a Mexican brand. And, they have several varieties that you may never have seen before. The store is quite small, but packed with value, and a few surprises. I got a 15 ounce can of sardines for $3.29. Absolutely nothing here is expensive.I've driven by here so many times, and wondered what was inside. I'm glad I finally stopped in. It definitely will not be the last time.”
“Super sweet employees! Over the past summer my pregnant wife and son were in a little fender bender in the parking lot for the Kroger fuel station. The employee not only checked on my wife and kid but also provided a statement for police and we were fortunate it was all on camera as well so our insurance covered all the damages :) the Kroger's savings are great as well!”
“Not only is the store clean, there is a wide variety of household needs. And the owner not only cares about his customers he also cares about his community with donations to the American cancer Society.”
“The prices were good and fair, however the stock was not full or even half. I'm not sure that's their fault or just the day but the quality seemed good for area and brand.”
“VERY GOOD STORE AND AMAZING HELP they have everything I needed I recommend it a lot if you go there you will fine everything you need the workers are super nice and helpful I recommend it go there and you will fine anything you desire RECOMMEND IT!!!!!!”
“Definitely improved over passed year or two.
Con, taking away cashiers. Eliminating jobs, is not a plus for me. Seeing you're such a large company! Plus, it's really hurting customers like myself that need and could use the help. Asking an agent to help ring and bag a whole cart of grocery isn't realistic since they are busy already. Bad move as a "Family Friendly" grocery Superstore”
“THE RESPECT AND THE KINDNESS I WAS SHOWN MEANS SO MUCH TO ME!!!! THE GENTLEMAN WAS GREAT! HE WAS KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT EVERYTHING!!! HE TREATED ME LIKE I WAS A HUMAN BEING AND THAT MEANS SO VERY MUCH TO ME!!! THANK YOU FOR HIRING HIM, HE WAS GREAT!!!! I HOPE HE IS ON DUTY NEXT TIME I GET GASOLINE.”
“I was a bit absent minded today. When checking out at a self checkout register, I pulled out some cash back, and left it behind whilst daydreaming probably. Luckily, my guardian Angel Nick set aside the money for me to receive once I returned. Thank you Nick as well as the wonderful woman at customer service (whose name I unfortunately didn't catch) for helping me correct my silly mistake.”
“Receptive employees, clean entrance and store. Pathways were cramped due to all the displays.
Good volume of customers. Everyone working was smiling and courteous.”
“Always has great stock on everything. Tough to find a store with full stock of clothes, legos, newest toys, plants, and everything really. The plants I've gotten here are always low price and probably the only superstore plants that live. Even the clearance ones bounce back and get huge.”
“I go to Meyer and Kroger, but I prefer Myers layout. Because the aisles are so much wider.. I will say kroger has much better fresh fish... Kroger's just kind of a Not a benefit as far as the gasoline, usually their gas. Even when you get the discount, there's no cheaper than surrounding gas stations.”
