“This is a wonderful property. I have immediate family in the area and stay here regularly for a variety of reasons; sometimes happy (celebrations), sometimes sad (medical treatments, funerals, etc). While I deeply appreciate that it's clean and comfortable, what truly sets the Hyatt Place Detroit / Royal Oak apart is its incredible staff. So many of them are great, and Courtney is consistently the MVP. He's so friendly and skilled and funny and willing to go the extra mile. I also love that they have a simple bar where you can go to kick off a night out or unwind at the end of the night. I feel fortunate to have this option in the area, and I look forward to heading back to stay over Christmas week. Keep up the good work!”

“Melissa Mateling did an amazing job coordinating our ceremony and reception at the Townsend. She did it all, going above and beyond creating a magical evening we'll always remember.Cannot understate how blown away I was by Melissa and the other Townsend staff. I plan on having Melissa help me plan future events at the Townsend and highly recommend her to others as well.”

“My fiancé and I have stayed here three times so far and will always continue to come back! The building itself is historic and beautiful and the secure parking is a major plus! The rooms are always clean and comfortable for our stay. The staff is also very friendly! We had an instance where we needed to move our reservation to a later date due to circumstances that were out of our control, and the staff were lovely in helping accommodate us! (I wish I could remember who it was that helped us, but thank you!!) The location is another thing we love! Within walking distance are a ton of unique restaurants!Overall, we love staying here and greatly prefer it over major hospitality chains. We always recommend it to all of our friends and family if they ever need a place to stay in Detroit!”

“It was a nice place overall, but little things made it just an okay stay. Beds were awesome. So comfy!

Later checkout than other hotels, and a really decent breakfast. However, that being said, the shower was low pressure, no big, but the lights in the bathroom were motion sensitive, so after being in the shower 15 minutes, it turned itself off.

The shower also whined while running, which again, no big, but when both rooms on either side of us had the same issue at 7 am, it was not a great way to wake up. We were in the second floor and apparently right beneath the water pipes because we could hear every single time someone flushed a toilet, like we were in then basement or something. We were gathering our stuff to checkout and looking under tables/couch for lost toys, and found someone's nicotine vape under the couch. We went to the pool with our kids and it was supposed to be open until 10. At
9:52, without warning, the lights turned off in the room, leaving the pool lights. At 9:56, again without warning, all the lights were turned off and we were left in pitch darkness with 2 other families. Construction was being done in the parking lot and machines were making noises (back up beeping and large machinery moving) around 5 am on a Saturday. Construction equipment being in the parking lot made parking inconvenient. Someone blocked a stairwell door with a luggage cart (in a fire, people would have been trapped) and stairwell doors to the parking lot were propped open.”

“First and foremost, the manager, Mr. Toma was exceptional. As swift action was needed to find a place to stay for the night and options running thin he made it happen for my family and I. We were given amazing service from start to finish. If I’m visiting Metro Detroit I will make sure to book here. Thanks again.”

“Nice and accommodating. My family and I stayed a couple of nights and it was just what we needed. Would preferred them to washed their blankets and other things with something gentle for people with sensitive skin. Overall they are the best out of other motels around.”

“I rated the room and location as 3 stars because, whilst both were very nice, our corner suite facing Woodward Ave, was extremely loud at night. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the noise from nearly every car having a loud glass-pack muffler, went on until 3AM. I realize that this is not the hotel's fault, but hotel management needs to engage with the Birmingham police department to address this issue. Service gets 4 stars because, whilst most every service offering is well executed and staff are very helpful, there were no disinfecting wipes in the fitness center for the 5 days I stayed there. Even after alerting both front desk staff and the fitness center attendant about the issue, it was not addressed. I would think that after day two, someone on staff would have just gone to CVS and bought some Lysol wipes and put them in the fitness center, but no. Gross! At $400/night, I doubt that I would stay here again.”

“We went here for a last minute Valentine's Day Getaway. It is, as is every Hilton we've visited this far, very comfortable with great amenities! This one is surely more for business people, but was a wonderful place for more casual visitors such as ourselves. The breakfast was the BEST I've ever had at any hotel we've ever stayed at! Fresh delicious options and there's even a made to order station! Rooms were clean and spacious. Service was great. After spending years going to sub par hotels and motels with few exceptions, we are now officially Hilton people! Highly recommend. 6 Stars! ?Rooms: Clean, spacious, with everything you could possibly want or need.Food & drinks: Breakfast was the best Hotel / Motel breakfast I've ever had. Bar none.”

“We were in town for a big volleyball tournament and everyone treated us great! Especially Kordaye who provided great service on the bar/lobby area. Even tried to teach me some line dancing!
They also had free Starbucks coffee in the am which was much appreciated!
I would recommend they add towel bars or hooks to the room though as there was no where to put your wet towels. Loved that there was a mini fridge but a small freezer in it would have been key.”

“We only stayed one night, but it was pleasant. There were no surprises, which is exactly what I want from a hotel. The room was clean. The furniture looks like it was reasonably updated. Sheets and towels were clean. The bed and sheets were comfortable. There are some nice details as well, like the reading lights and USB ports at both sides of the bed.The staff were friendly, and we received text messages checking up on us at the beginning of our stay. Breakfast was hot, fresh, and free.I have no major criticisms. Troy (and Clawson) are not pedestrian-friendly, but that's not the hotel's fault. If you're a light sleeper, it's worth keeping in mind that the air conditioner is the smaller variety and they can be a little noisy. Ours was on the louder side, but it wasn't too bad and we slept just fine. The bathrooms are excellent. Like the room itself, they have been updated recently. The lights flanking the bathroom mirror are another nice touch - my fiancée found it very helpful when applying makeup. The shower is tall-person friendly, which is greatly appreciated. This is a hotel. It does its job well. It is comfortable, clean, quiet, and reasonably priced.Rooms: Recently updated with some nice touches, like reading lights and USB charging ports.”

“Gemini was just updated.  See updatecloseConversation with GeminieditWrite a hotel review for homewood suites, clean, beautiful rennovations, friendly staff.Show draftsvolume_upHomewood Suites: Spacious Comfort and Friendly HospitalityI recently had the pleasure of staying at Homewood Suites, and it was a truly enjoyable experience. The first thing that struck me was the cleanliness of the entire property. Everywhere I went, from the lobby to the hallways to my suite itself, everything sparkled. It was clear that the staff takes great pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.Speaking of the staff, they were all incredibly friendly and helpful. From the moment I checked in, I felt welcome and well-cared for. The staff was always happy to answer my questions and offer recommendations for things to do in the area. But the real star of the show was my suite. The recent renovations were beautiful! The modern design and tasteful decor created a truly inviting atmosphere. The suite itself was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room to relax and unwind. One of the biggest perks for me was having a fully-equipped kitchen in the suite. This allowed me to save money on meals by preparing some of my own food.Overall, my stay at Homewood Suites was excellent. The clean and renovated accommodations, friendly staff, and spacious suites made it a perfect place to stay. I would highly recommend Homewood Suites to anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing place to stay.”

“We had a great stay, with the exception of the breakfast service. Many items not available, waffle batter took a long time to dispense which created long lines and congestion in the breakfast area. Other than that no complaints.”

“This Marriot is conveniently located next to I-75 for easy access to all the surrounding areas. The hotel is nice. The rooms are small. We were even upgraded to a larger king room on the concierge level. The disappointment was in the club lounge. Evening there was nothing but cheese and crackers. The drinks were 9.00 a piece. Went the bar and got cheaper drinks. Breakfast was a little better but not great. Staff is excellent and took good care of our needs. This hotel is oriented for business travel. Everything is geared for the Sunday through Thursday traveler. We were there for business so it was good. The bar is hoping at night.”

“It's not a 4-star. It's a Comfort Inn. That being said, it was a nice one. It was near the end of a renovation. We were warmly greeted by the desk attendant when we arrived. He had a good sense of humor and the letter to furry friends at the desk was hilarious.

We had a little trouble getting in our door, but were surprised when we got in to find a large Jacuzzi tub big enough for two with a curtain into the bed area. My wife thought we had the honeymoon sweet. With the curtain open, we could both relax in the hot tub while watching a movie on TV.

We'll definitely stay again!

Rooms: Our room has a coffee maker, fridge, and a large Jacuzzi tub/shower. We slept well on the bed.

Nearby activities: Lots of restaurants and shopping not far from the hotel. I wouldn't call it pedestrian-friendly, but you probably could.

Safety: We never felt unsafe.

Walkability: There's stuff a mile or so away. The roads are busy, so I probably wouldn't walk it.

Food & drinks: Breakfast was basic but free. Fruit, cereal, yogurt, bagels, warm breakfast sandwiches, coffee, milk, etc.

Plenty of restaurants nearby.”

“Everytime we come into town and the room I like is available I like to come here only because of the front desk "Sommer" it makes it all worth the extra mile or dollar to stay. Motel 6 is lucky to have a great girl like her honestly I can say I'd probably wouldn't stay here if it wasn't for her beautiful personality.”
