Thrift Stores in Traverse City, MI

“I really enjoy shopping at the WRC thrift stores. You never know what you're going to find and I've found some great stuff!! The people who work there are so nice and it's fun!”

“Really cool, classy little resale shop. I learned the EBB of Ebb Tide stands for Edith B. Brown, the original owner and operator (for decades). Recently changed hands but still as cute and neat (tidy) as ever.”

“By far my favorite thrift store in town. You can tell they don’t put out every single item that gets donated, it feels like a curated selection. You’ll pay a smidge more than goodwill but it’s worth it to not have to sift through junk. The craft section is my favorite. The music is always relaxing. They also give back to the community- ask at the register and they’ll give you a list of the other organizations they support. I always enjoy stopping in here.”

“This is one of the larger and nicer Goodwill locations I’ve visited, and its location in a more upscale area of Traverse City definitely seems to work in its favor when it comes to donations. The store was quite busy during my visit, but it was clean, organized, well-stocked, and there was plenty to browse through.

One thing I appreciated was that the pricing was still fairly reasonable. Some Goodwill stores in more affluent areas seem to realize they’re sitting on nicer donations and suddenly start pricing things like they’re running an antique mall, boutique, or eBay store. 😂 Thankfully, that wasn’t really the case here. I spotted several clean, gently used name-brand items in the women’s clothing section that were priced reasonably—items I could easily imagine being marked higher at another Goodwill or pulled aside to be sold online.

The men’s clothing section was a different story. It seemed considerably more picked over, which may have simply been a combination of the store being busy and decent men’s clothing disappearing quickly. There was still merchandise to look through, but the women’s section definitely had the better treasure-hunting potential during this particular visit.

Overall, this is a very solid Goodwill location: large selection, clean merchandise, good organization, plenty of inventory, and prices that haven’t completely wandered into “Do you know this was donated?” territory. 😂 Definitely worth stopping in if you’re thrifting around Traverse City, especially if you enjoy digging around for name-brand clothing without paying resale-shop prices.”
