“My wife and I recently visited Joe’s store, and he was the ultimate host. My wife got a pair of boots, and Joe explained the fascinating history behind them. She also picked up a vest that looks like it belongs in a certain British show. Joe made the entire experience fun and fruitfully, even laughing at my lame jokes. We look forward to our next visit.”
“Love that Haystacks is made and owned locally AND has cute clothes! The staff is amazing, so helpful and friendly. They showed me outfits and sizes that fit my own style. It’s very versatile clothing. Comfortable, can be dressed up or down. Today I left with an ADORABLE gray cardigan and the silky reversible pants in a floral print. The sweatpants and sweatshirts are super cute and not too casual.
There are some pricey things in the store. Worth it since they are high quality and classic and beautiful fabrics. Other things are very reasonably priced. Really nice cotton sweaters for $45. Sale skirts that are adorable for $25. Lots of other things too.”

The clothing and accessories are timeless and fashion-forward all at the same time, but my favorite part is the upstairs which is filled with beautifully unique home goods. “I always enjoy popping into l.a.cool for a friendly, fun, and expertly curated shopping experience. It’s hands down my favorite clothing shop in northern Michigan and beyond… All of the ladies including Aubrey, Karley, and Domonique are super helpful and genuine, and are great with styling pieces. A vast selection of denim, timeless staples, outerwear, dresses, resort wear, and accessories keeps me coming back frequently. Some of my favorite purchases include handbags from Wandler & Hereu, dresses from Jonathan Simkhai & Loulou Studio, denim from Ulla Johnson & Frame, and outerwear from Lisa Yang & TWP.”
“I like the fact that they carry larger size clothing. Seems most stores these days only go up to a 2xl, and once it's washed it doesn't fit anymore. They have a nice variety of stuff. Staff has been very friendly and helpful each time I've visited. Nothing negative so far.”

“I received the most wonderful service from Kim at Macy’s this past Thursday. Not only was she friendly and courteous, Kim cared enough to “go the extra mile”.
I was in a hurry as I stopped to pay my Macy’s bill. Kim’s registrar did not read my check properly so she volunteered to go to another register and try to process the payment. Then, Kim called me when the transaction was complete and additionally, volunteered to send the payment stub to my home!
In the meantime, I had left the store to get to my meeting on time!

“My hubbie likes alpacas so we stopped in. This boutique - selling everything alpaca - is one of the shops in the Village Commons (the old asylum). Believe it or not my hubbie bought a $50 alpaca stuffed animal. It was super duper soft and cute. He said it's going to sit in his office. I suppose he could have spent the money on worse things! The cashier was very sweet and informative. She spoke of an alpaca farm that we could visit (to further satisfy my hubbie's alpaca fix)!”

“Store was super clean. Staff were friendly. I was offered a bag to shop with. Fitting rooms were clean and no wait to get into the fitting room. Slight line at cash register but that is to be expected shopping prime time on the weekend. Cashier called for back up once the line got to 3 people.”

“Talbot's is a boutique style chain store that appears to cater to the clothing needs of a mature woman as well as younger folks. This is not easy to find but Talbot's meets the need. The sales staff were friendly but not pushy. We made it purchase, and felt good about it as we left.”
