Uncommon Loon Brewing Company

Stopped into Uncommon Loon Brewing in Chisago and really enjoyed it. It’s one of those breweries that immediately feels comfortable when you walk in. Nothing over the top, just a fun, relaxed place to hang out for a few hours.

We happened to be there on a Sunday while they had live music going, and I thought that really added to the atmosphere. The music was good, people were enjoying themselves, and it created a great community feel without making it impossible to have a conversation. Another huge plus is that they’re dog friendly, which always earns bonus points from me. Seeing people hanging out with their pups just makes places like this feel even more welcoming.

As for the beer, I went with one of their sours, and it was excellent. I’m pretty picky about sours because some breweries either make them way too sweet or way too tart, but this one had a really nice balance and was incredibly refreshing. My girlfriend ordered the Creamsicle Frosty, and she absolutely loved it. If you’re someone who likes those smooth, dessert-style beers, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

The staff was friendly, service was quick, and the whole place just had a relaxed, neighborhood brewery vibe that makes you want to come back. Whether you’re stopping in for a drink after exploring the Chisago Lakes area, listening to some live music, or just looking for a brewery where you can bring your dog, Uncommon Loon is definitely worth checking out. We’ll absolutely be back to try more of their beers.
