“Very comfortable, well-taken-care-of, semi-upscale hotel. In the room was a microwave, fridge, coffee setup, glasses, ice bucket, hairdryer, iron, and ironing board. The complimentary breakfast in the morning was a much more leveled-up version than you get at other hotels. Great pool area with a slide and a nice, very well-maintained hot tub. We did not get to try the restaurant. All in all, a great place to stay while in Grand Rapids.”
“We called this place in a panic after one of the other places in town canceled on us due to a water main break. We had a block of 27 rooms for a youth hockey jamboree. The daytime manager we contacted was extremely helpful, very polite, and quite accommodating! The rooms were nice and clean, they allowed us to use the meeting room for team building activities, the pool area was well kept, and to top it off, the continental breakfast the next morning was an IMPRESSIVE spread of food that was all delicious. 5 stars all around, but if I could give 6 stars for the service, I definitely would!”
“The rooms are cleaned, lots of
Parking, friendly and understanding staff/ owners. Great location by the lake and for being in town, it’s actually very peaceful. It’s a great place to stay!! reasonable prices and pet friendly. You won’t be disappointed!!!!”
“I've taken the Jefferson line before to come up from the twin cities to visit with my son a lot of fun I'm just waiting for a good friend of mine to come so I can take her to dinner and should be a fantastic evening have a good night and God bless”
“Quiet, peaceful, historic. It's an old school cabin on the lake experience. The family that runs it has been there for generations. They are helpful and friendly.”
“Having grown up in the area, the legends loom large about the historic camp on the shores of one of our region's favorite lakes. These days, Camp Hiawatha is more than just a summer camp; it’s a, event space and wedding venue where stories unfold and memories are etched into the hearts of all who gather. As you stroll through this idyllic setting, each path tells a tale of adventure, each cabin holds echoes of laughter, and the lake reflects the endless possibilities of love. Having photographed weddings there, I can confirm that it is a perfectly unique venue for anyone looking to get married in the woods of Northern Minnesota.
Choosing Camp Hiawatha as your wedding venue opens up a world where the charm of rustic living meets the elegance of heartfelt nuptials. The camp offers a variety of settings to suit any wedding vision. Perhaps you’ll exchange vows at the waterfront, the gentle sounds of Deer Lake providing a serene soundtrack, or under the majestic pines, where the whispers of the forest breathe life into your commitment. Maybe you will say “I do” within the sanctuary of the sweet, sentimental chapel. You might even have a cocktail hour and dance on the dock under the stars as a bonfire roars and lives on behind you.
Whatever you do, you cannot do it wrong in choosing Camp Hiawatha as a wedding venue.”
