“I brought in a jacket with the sleeve half ripped off and they were able to fix it in 5 minutes. It’s like it never happened the repair looks so good. They also have second hand items for sale for reasonable prices. Everyone who works here has been friendly and knowledgeable I can’t recommend this place enough if you’re looking to take care of the gear you currently own or balling on a budget needing some new to you items.”
“Beautiful selection! I always look for places for bones and bug-related taxidermy, and they had plenty of it plus other very neat “trinkets” (and much more. I’m really down-selling it saying that, tbh). I was also surprised that the pricing was not as bad as I thought it was going to be (sorry, Mpls. I do expect unnecessarily overpriced things there), and my kids and I ended up getting a few things. Also, and very important anywhere you go, the staff there was so kind and helpful! We will definitely be going back — a lot. It was amazing!”

Even still, I am willing to pay more than I would at a thrift store, because the curation is lovely, and Amanda will clean, mend, and press/steam garments, so I know I can wear it the same day I purchased it. “I have purchased a number of things from this store and have always been completely satisfied. Recently, I had been looking for a vintage dining room table that would be large enough to fit a large number of people. I found a table at MAD that was PERFECT. The owner arranged a time for me to meet with him to look at the table and also arranged for another time for me to pick it up. He was outstanding and very flexible with me given this crazy time of the year. Very grateful for all of it.”

“b. is the best. Their inventory changes regularly and they announce big deals via their Instagram when their racks get full, for example they just had a big dress sale. I can always find something here and my style and body has changed a lot in the almost 15 years I've been shopping here. They really support their community in numerous ways and are very transparent about their processes and practices. If you're looking for a super sugary customer service experience that's curated to make you feel good (ie super fake), this probably isn't your place.”

She mentioned that she is searching for an awning out front... she was nice... so if anybody has a spare rounded white business awning that resembles a clam... let her know.”
“Talk about a hole in the wall, a hidden gem, or a diamond in the rough! I love thrifting and checking out all the places to do so when visiting a new town. If I were to come back to the twin cities, I would be sure to stop into the Cat and the Cobra! Locating the store was a little harder than anticipated. It is in the back of the parking lot behind the locked door, but it is the first door inside the building. Not to mention the cool vibes and architecture of the building. I highly recommend walking around and checking it out. There was an amazing selection of any article of clothing you were looking for. I would say the majority of the items were typically priced. Some articles hanging were a little overpriced, but the best part was the bins in the back of the store! I found two shirts in the bins that were $5 each! It was a STEAL of a deal for vintage t-shirts in the condition they were in. I got one ESPN shirt and a Strigus 2006 shirt. Not to mention how fun it is to shift through bins to find those hidden gems of shirts. In addition to a more expensive rainforest cafe t-shirt that was hanging on the walls of shirts. Overall, the service, selection, and value of the store and its articles were top-tier for vintage thrift! I highly recommend stopping in!”

“Absolutely enamored with this place after today. I’d driven by a billion times outside of open hours, but never stopped in. I went specifically looking for a lampshade for a lamp I inherited from my grandparents old house, after my grandma recently passed away. Little did I know, the owner makes lampshades, so the whole thing felt slightly serendipitous. She had awesome suggestions, and took the time to show us around a bit. We’re so happy with the new addition to our living room.
The whole store is well curated, and an absolute treasure trove of yesteryear. I highly recommend a weekend stop-in!”

I swear every time I walk in they have exactly that I’ve been searching for or planning on buying. Their prices are fair, actually sometimes I think it’s a steal. I don’t think I’ve ever not left with something . This once upon child location is my favorite! The employees are helpful and sweet. I love stopping by when I’m in the area.”

“The shop repaired the wicker seat from a rocking chair that had been in my family for many years. The seat was replaced nicely without damage to the chair, but I was a little disappointed that the stain of the new seat did not quite match the stain of the back of the chair. It took 3 months' time and almost $300, to give an idea for other customers. I was happy to give the time and money to support a small local business; but I am still disappointed that the stain didn't match, which is the kind of detail that I also expected from a small business. At any rate, at least they were nice.”

All five of my top choices were from this shop, and Nikolina is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. Beyond the sustainability and nostalgia of a vintage dress, their gowns are stunning. I promise that they have something for everyone. I tried on many dresses I never would have considered and I'm so glad I did. I still get so many compliments on my dress, and it's unlike anything I'd ever seen before. I couldn't even find a picture of it online (believe me, I tried). The collection of unique, beautiful, and vintage gowns blew me away. It was so fun to try on dresses from so many different decades. They are also really good about working within your budget. I can't recommend Andrea's enough!”
