“I brought in a jacket with the sleeve half ripped off and they were able to fix it in 5 minutes. It’s like it never happened the repair looks so good. They also have second hand items for sale for reasonable prices. Everyone who works here has been friendly and knowledgeable I can’t recommend this place enough if you’re looking to take care of the gear you currently own or balling on a budget needing some new to you items.”

“Beautiful selection! I always look for places for bones and bug-related taxidermy, and they had plenty of it plus other very neat “trinkets” (and much more. I’m really down-selling it saying that, tbh). I was also surprised that the pricing was not as bad as I thought it was going to be (sorry, Mpls. I do expect unnecessarily overpriced things there), and my kids and I ended up getting a few things. Also, and very important anywhere you go, the staff there was so kind and helpful! We will definitely be going back — a lot. It was amazing!”

Recently, I had been looking for a vintage dining room table that would be large enough to fit a large number of people. I found a table at MAD that was PERFECT. The owner arranged a time for me to meet with him to look at the table and also arranged for another time for me to pick it up. “I've been shopping here for years now and it's one of my favourite spots in the Twin Cities. First of all, the owners are just really kind and welcoming people. Secondly, it's one of those shops where I never come away empty handed. Lots of well selected cool vintage items, a nice selection of clothes and there's always some great records in stock. It's well organised and even the music playing is usually great. Just a really cool place to check out.”
“Out of all the antique stores in Hopkins, this is my favourite. The shop is filled with cool looking things and a solid vinyl selection. The prices seem really reasonable too. The staff are really friendly and welcoming. The woman who helped me today was able to find exactly what I was looking for and had such a nice nature. If ever I'm in Hopkins, this place is always a must.”

“The Golden Pearl is a cute little vintage shop. Everything was well-organized and the whole place has a cohesive sense of style.
Unfortunately for me, it just felt a little sparse. Not under-stocked, like certainly not barren; maybe just a bit homogeneous. Nothing popped off the shelf for either me or my girlfriend.
Everything we did look at was reasonably priced, and the staff seem friendly and vibrant. I just don't necessarily see myself yearning to return particularly often.”

“Talk about a hole in the wall, a hidden gem, or a diamond in the rough! I love thrifting and checking out all the places to do so when visiting a new town. If I were to come back to the twin cities, I would be sure to stop into the Cat and the Cobra! Locating the store was a little harder than anticipated. It is in the back of the parking lot behind the locked door, but it is the first door inside the building. Not to mention the cool vibes and architecture of the building. I highly recommend walking around and checking it out. There was an amazing selection of any article of clothing you were looking for. I would say the majority of the items were typically priced. Some articles hanging were a little overpriced, but the best part was the bins in the back of the store! I found two shirts in the bins that were $5 each! It was a STEAL of a deal for vintage t-shirts in the condition they were in. I got one ESPN shirt and a Strigus 2006 shirt. Not to mention how fun it is to shift through bins to find those hidden gems of shirts. In addition to a more expensive rainforest cafe t-shirt that was hanging on the walls of shirts. Overall, the service, selection, and value of the store and its articles were top-tier for vintage thrift! I highly recommend stopping in!”

“I walked in with an agenda ! I have shopped successfully and soul fulfillingly here in years past. I had a hunch they could set me up. I had an event in two days and with some specificities Hailey had 6 dresses picked out and waiting for me to try on within 10 minutes flat. I tried them all but fell in love with the first. She had the perfect jewelry and purse too. I was all set and out the door in 25 minutes. Delightful experience and so grateful! The fit was perfect ! Those Hailey’s! ✨”

“There are a lot of great thrift and vintage stores in the area, but Up Six is consistently my favorite. The fact that the post new sizes for their dresses makes shopping for old dresses soooooooooo easier.
They also do a pretty good job of rotating in and out their inventory, so you can go back reasonably often and find new stuff.”
“I went to many different shops and tried on many different dresses, but Andrea's was far and away the best experience I had. All five of my top choices were from this shop, and Nikolina is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. Beyond the sustainability and nostalgia of a vintage dress, their gowns are stunning. I promise that they have something for everyone. I tried on many dresses I never would have considered and I'm so glad I did. I still get so many compliments on my dress, and it's unlike anything I'd ever seen before. I couldn't even find a picture of it online (believe me, I tried). The collection of unique, beautiful, and vintage gowns blew me away. It was so fun to try on dresses from so many different decades. They are also really good about working within your budget. I can't recommend Andrea's enough!”

“The shop repaired the wicker seat from a rocking chair that had been in my family for many years. The seat was replaced nicely without damage to the chair, but I was a little disappointed that the stain of the new seat did not quite match the stain of the back of the chair. It took 3 months' time and almost $300, to give an idea for other customers. I was happy to give the time and money to support a small local business; but I am still disappointed that the stain didn't match, which is the kind of detail that I also expected from a small business. At any rate, at least they were nice.”
“H & B is a nice curated collection of antiques. The items are well priced and range from couple of dollars to thousands. It is one of the best resale shops in the Twin Cities.”
