“Such a gem. This is one of my top 5 thrift shops ever. Owners have great taste and select/present a wide variety of vintage and handmade clothes, jewelry, decor, and entertainment in a cute shop with chill vibes. We've gotten some of our favorite pieces of art and furniture from here, and appreciate that they keep the prices reasonable (rare trait these days). You can even find jewelry made by the owners AND they do amazing portraits for comission if you ask nicely. Pets and people, both! Look no further for a great gift or treasure hunt when you need a pick-me-up.

“I have purchased a number of things from this store and have always been completely satisfied. Recently, I had been looking for a vintage dining room table that would be large enough to fit a large number of people. I found a table at MAD that was PERFECT. The owner arranged a time for me to meet with him to look at the table and also arranged for another time for me to pick it up. He was outstanding and very flexible with me given this crazy time of the year. Very grateful for all of it.”

“Top tier vintage and true vintage store with a great range of prices and styles throughout the decades. Excellent customer service, felt very welcoming. Was so impressed with their renovations of the building they are in too. Whoever owned the building really let it fall apart. SAD. The cat and cobra saved so much amazing historical clothing AND the building they house it in. Good for them for keeping architecture alive. Go to this shop if you're in the area 10/10.”

Their collection is really something special. I found it super fun to imagine what a dress could be with reconstruction/alteration! Nik’s respect for her clientele and her passion for her gowns is evident. Loved the experience top to bottom!”
“The Golden Pearl is a cute little vintage shop. Everything was well-organized and the whole place has a cohesive sense of style.
Unfortunately for me, it just felt a little sparse. Not under-stocked, like certainly not barren; maybe just a bit homogeneous. Nothing popped off the shelf for either me or my girlfriend.
Everything we did look at was reasonably priced, and the staff seem friendly and vibrant. I just don't necessarily see myself yearning to return particularly often.”

“b. is the best. Their inventory changes regularly and they announce big deals via their Instagram when their racks get full, for example they just had a big dress sale. I can always find something here and my style and body has changed a lot in the almost 15 years I've been shopping here. They really support their community in numerous ways and are very transparent about their processes and practices. If you're looking for a super sugary customer service experience that's curated to make you feel good (ie super fake), this probably isn't your place.”
“Dangerous and delightful! :) I absolutely love GH2 for a variety of reasons!! First of all the hunt and thrill of surprise. Because it is a slightly used second hand store you never know what your going to find, which designer, what year, what style. Its a thrill finding both new and modern, and classic and vintage. I'll get lost for hours in this shop, even though its organized, clean, friendly, and not overwhelming. I love the fact (and maybe it just helps me feel better about shopping) that I'm repurposing, re-wearing quality clothing and not having it go to waste. Prices range from high high end to affordable. But the best thing is its uniqueness. I am one who wants to get something one of a kind, different, show stopping, that only I will be wearing, and this is where I go. Because of its non conventional inventory, you get unique pieces not otherwise found in Minneapolis which allows you to stand out in the best way having those pieces no one else will. Everything I purchase from GH2 I get constant compliments on, feel regal in designer thats affordable to me, and know I will be the only one in it that evening. Styles range from classic to funky, from vintage to futuristic, from Americana to Parisian, young to wise, casual basics to ball gowns. They have shoes, accessories, scarves, winter ware, bags. You just never know what will be on those racks ready for you to discover. If you're seeking something special don't be afraid to ask. Thats how they showed me my favorite satin ball gown skirt. They also BUY! I haven't myself sold anything to them but know that they do take in and purchase designer clothing off hand. So thats that, if you're looking for unique, one-of-kind, affordable designer, pieces to add to your wardrobe, go on the hunt here at GH2. Good luck, you're going look stunning :)”
