“Truly one of my favorite places in the Twin Cities. I feel so lucky to have this in my neighborhood! Good coffee & tea with creative specials (I'm 99% sure they make syrups etc in house), great sandwiches, small but very solid beers on tap ...plus books! and friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Tiny lot in the back off the ally but frankly the free street parking is even more convenient. I order all of my books through them and I really enjoyed a book club I did there last spring & I've been meaning to do more. Also this is where I stop for a lil treat - currently the amaretto mocha, but they seem to always have at least one seasonal special I'm into.Kid-friendliness: Definitely kid friendly”

“Our Men-Who-Read Book Club had our monthly meetup here at Eat My Words book store. It's a charming used book store nestled in Northeast Minneapolis. A big selection of literature and history. As well as a nice selection of YA fiction and even cards by local artists. Certainly worth stopping in and browsing for fellow book lovers.”

“Wonderful, quaint bookstore with a focus on Indigenous American culture, art and of course books. The owner is author Louise Erdrich, and there is a section dedicated to her many, beautifully written books. The staff are very friendly and I have appreciated their recommendations. Shop local!”

“Such a great bookstore !Their kids' area is absolutely magical and fun.Was there for a kid's birthday party and loved their books selection. They don't have too many books, so it's not too overwhelming, but you can tell that they only picked the more fascinating ones out there. The selection is also very up to date.”

“Wild Rumpus is a great book store. Love the setup, the variety of books, the book related merchandise. Then you add great staff and fun animals to visit. Love going to their weekly Storytime! They work hard to make it fun and engaging for the kids.”

“Heck Yes!!!!! Rachel?! Oh heck yes. I'm a reader in another city and don't read for myself. I was in from out-of-town (for my day job) and needed a reading. So happy to have found Rachel. She provided clarity to my situation which was unfolding exactly as I thought it was unfolding (with some unsavory tidbits). Thanks Rachel ... I think this Tarot reader has found my go-to Tarot reader (You said you'd do out-of-town readings, yes?).”

“I'm just happy book stores made it through the covid junk. Still more expensive than online but you don't go to these stores for the price. You go for the smell and the feel and being surrounded by countless authors and knowledge. This one is clean and decently organized. Staff could be a bit more courteous but not offensive enough to drop it a star.”

“Tessa at the B& N in Minneapolis/Greenway, across from Lake Calhoun was phenomenal. She helped me over the phone and though her own location did not have the book I asked for, she ordered it from the warehouse AND told me of another location I could find it at. All that , with a smile in her voice. Thank you, Tessa! From Lili”

“Fantastic selection. I am pleased every single time. Some of these other reviews are not it. But then again, I don't go into stores like this when I am in a rush, or unwilling to let other people's energy be their own. I try to worry about myself and don't take things so personally. So maybe I'm always going to have a good to great experience bc of that ‍”

“I highly recommend this shop for any book lover. The workers are always friendly and willing to help (two of them even helped me find a merch shirt in my size). Prices for the books are average, but their stock is what makes this bookstore so fantastic. There are sections for every topic you can think of, I love the cookbook and fiction sections, particularly. If you want more than books, there's also puzzles, notebooks, t-shirts, bookmarks, etc. Parking: pay on-street parking. I recommend parking on 31st St, right off of Hennepin. Accessibility: wheel-chair accessible mostly (no step to get in, but no automatic door button). Bathrooms aren't wheelchair friendly (doors too narrow). Bathrooms: a bit stretchy, but the toilets and sinks are clean.”

“Jim has been a good friend for more than 20 years and I often go just to visitBut it must be remembered that he is an expert in antiquarian books in general and has a very good selection of books, vinyl and maps and prints to choose from. Plus he can find just about anything he doesn't have in the store. He is a nationally known expert in the field and I couldn't be more positive in recommending Jim and the store to anyone looking for a specific book or record. It is a dynamite store!”

“Was in town for work, just went in for something to do one evening. Loved this bookstore. I ended up buying 4 books, 2 of which were hardback, for $35. Great selection and prices.”

“Was looking for some old decorative books to use on a bookshelf and this place absolutely did not let me down. The owner was extremely knowledgeable of absolutely every book I asked her about, and we spent almost two hours browsing the incredible (albeit quite messy) collection of books ranging from $10 to upwards of $1000. Also available was a huge collection of maps and prints which we didn't even have time to explore. This was a fantastic experience and I will definitely be going back.”

“The cutest little Christian store in the area! There's so much to chose from. From items with quotes, to clothing items, children's toys, Christmas items, kitchen items, jewelry, books, journals, and so much more! We went here looking for a few gifts for someone we know that just lost her mom and we found the perfect candle and devotional book. The employees are very friendly and there if you have any questions. The price range varies depending on the item. You can find things that are reasonable priced to more expensive pieces. I loved the cozy atmosphere. This is a store you could walk around over and over again and find things you didn't see before!”

“I love this sweet little store! It has a nice selection of gifts and books with a range of prices. I only make it in about once a year but the owner always remembers me. It's also nicely located near a coffee shop and some food places so you can grab a book and go relax with a hot drink to enjoy your purchase. I also like that they sell items from some Minnesota-based vendors. Great place to find gifts.”
