The staff are very friendly, genuine, and exceptional, offering good suggestions and helpful recommendations. The intimate shop is tended with care, providing a great selection that includes a dedicated section for the owner's many books. It is a small bookstore where visitors can also find unique items like a confessional and enjoy shopping locally.

We loved our first visit to Birchbark Books! It's obvious that there is a lot of care put into this store. I love the staff recommendations and highlighting indigenous authors! Staff were very welcoming!

What a beautiful store! This is a uniquely Minnesotan institution and one that deserves your time and patronage! The staff is great, the selection is vast, and I felt very good spending my money supporting this business!
