“Having a hardware store this close has been an absolute game-changer for us, living on Minnewashta Park. This is the closest hardware store I’ve ever had in any home throughout my life, and it’s been incredibly convenient. Every staff member is exceptionally friendly, no matter when I visit. They always make me feel important and genuinely cared for – it’s the little things they do that make a big difference.
Josh, in particular, always ensures that what I need will actually work. I’ve never experienced this level of care and attention in any hardware store before.
For anyone in the Excelsior or Shorewood areas of Minnesota, close to Lake Minnetonka, I highly recommend this local hardware store. Their outstanding service and convenient location make it a go-to spot for all your hardware needs.

The guy at the counter knew the brand and part right away and then suggested an additional part I might need, which ended up being the case. Love these smaller shops with experts who can get it right for you the first time!”

“I had a larger casement window installed and my contractors supplier was Hamel True Value Building Center. The window was installed correctly but during the cold spell last Winter an issue with the window performance occurred and a warranty claim was initiated by me.
Steve Theiste, the salesman worked with my contractor, window supplier, and me to resolve the issue and it was determined a new window would result. Steve had to keep up with me and all of the back and forth, and he ordered a new window. I was very impressed with his professionalism and patience as we worked through the warranty and recommend his expertise to anyone looking for new windows.”
“Nice home Ace. I used just about every home Ace in the west metro. Never have had a problem. Easy to get to, employees are nice. Never had problems. I use the Ace for all my needs. They've never been out of stock anytime I've ever been there or needed anything. Which is very important as a contractor. I just never know when i'll have to stop in and grab someone. I can usually get in and out in 5 min which is important to me(even though I wanna look around longer). Plain and simple great place to shop. “So, this is quite the gem.. Have stopped into this location multiple times and have always had amazing service which is rare for most stores in this sector... Reason for writing, John (customer service rep) took time for my needs on pest control.. Didn't rush the interaction, just gave me the time to ask questions and his answers were so very helpful... This guy is a DIAMOND.
From this experience alone, I will only be shopping at Gopher Ace for my hardware needs.. I am conveniently close to the big box stores but NEVER get this type of service. I would be lucky for a smile.
Kudos also to the cashier, Mary.. what a wonderful person... She gives the final charm for a wonderful experience.

“Friendly staff - I love being recognized when I come in by the paint swirl master - haha - it's a side project one of the guys has - finding beauty in simple swirls of paint before they mix together. It's just personality that you find in a place like this. Sure it's probably a little more expensive if you buy everything there; but you probably won't walk out with a bunch of impulse buy BS like I always do at Menards. Im pretty sure I come out ahead and can rely on the advice of the people. Great experience guys!”

“I did an online sale of a new water heater from the Plymouth Minnesota store. The water heater was ready for us when we arrived. A young gentleman named Michael brought our water heater out. He was so helpful loading the water heater. We had to remove the grandson's car seat and he even helped us get that removed. Thank you Michael for your great service!”
“Tricam makes the famous Gorilla line of products (Ladders, Carts, Hose Reels, etc.) that I find at Home Depot and I absolutely love their products, so much so that I replaced everything with their version. Everything is WELL built, well engineered, and lasts for a long long time. Whatever this team (design, engineering) is doing - please give them all a raise. Truly love every product that comes from Gorilla. Keep it up!! And make more versions and branch out into the other products out there so I can replace my toolshed with all Gorilla products PLEASE.”

“We just moved to the area, and needed some stuff for the new house. We've been to this location now over eight times in the last 2 months. We purchased potting soil, peanuts, some clearance items and some materials for the work that I do. One of the things that I love about this location is that everyone goes out of their way to make sure that customers are greeted, and people in the aisles are getting approached and just asking if we need any help. As we're new to the area and also shopping at Ace, the staff have been more than wonderful in leading us to the right areas of the store to purchase the stuff that we need.Can't say enough about the store, the location how clean the store was and how they basically carry everything that you possibly would need for your house.Thank you.”
