Big Hill Books is a cute hidden gem in the Byrn Mawr neighborhood of Minneapolis. This independent, general interest bookstore sells new books, cards, puzzles, games, locally made art, and more. The atmosphere is nice with comfy chairs, a small stage, cozy rugs, and an open system of bookshelves. Sweet staff give great recommendations, including for local authors, and there are wonderful pets like resident cats. The store hosts frequent community events including open mic nights and book clubs. Shirts and great local made gifts are available. Visitors can sit and read a little or say hi to the kitties. The warm and inviting atmosphere makes it a great neighborhood spot with a wide variety of titles for adults and kids.

Love this place. It's so cute and well stocked. But what I really like about it is how nice the employees are. Often times when I go to bookstores, no one approaches me at all. Here, you can tell they love books because they will talk books with you if they have the time.

Found Big Hill Books this evening. Nicely organized, bright happy store. Numerous staff recommendations. Chairs to sit for a few minutes. And a cat to greet me. Oh, and a fun selection of greeting cards. Loved it!
