The Lake Street Cub in Minneapolis is a newly remodeled and renovated store. It features a global foods market and expanded deli, meat, and produce departments. The bakery has fresh doughnuts made daily and a tortilla station. Shopping is convenient with curbside pickup and delivery options, and the pharmacy is also remodeled. Customers can join a rewards program for digital coupons and fuel perks. The store has a good selection, including meats and specific items like canned pureed tomatoes that other locations may not carry. The bakery receives praise for delicious, well-decorated cakes. However, several significant problems are noted. The store is consistently described as way too hot. Some shelving and displays are hazardous, catching clothing or skin. Policies, like not allowing large reusable bags inside, are frustrating to customers. The deli stock and floral selection can be inconsistent week to week. Prices have been rising quickly. Most seriously, there are alarming reports about security, including a hostile environment and a frightening incident involving a guard and an unresponsive manager. Some customers also note encountering rude shoppers.
Good variety of groceries, especially compared to the Target nextdoor. There is almost always a security guard at the door so, take that as you will. The self checkouts have VERY touchy weight sensors, so if you have a bigger trip, I'd just go through the staffed checkout

I go to this cub location when I want a larger variety of food. I usually go to the smaller location on 46th, for basics

The five stars are for the people who work here. Unfortunately this Cubs foods is probably in the worst neighborhood in Minneapolis. Be cautious, do not leave anything of value in your car.
