    “One of my go tos in the area, and a destination for middle eastern in the twin citie. Service is warm and hospitable even if the takeout window is perpetually busy. Try dining in for a more relaxed experience - they always give us something extra when we do (soup, dessert, extra bread). Make sure you stop by the grocery store - the fresh olives, labneh and fresh bread corner are outstanding. The freshly made injera iraqi tandoor bread are always in my basket”

    “We were searching for Kvuzat Yavne cucumbers in brine, Beit Hashita pitted green olives, and Israeli pita bread. We found two out three at The Kosher Spot. (We couldn't find Beit Hashita. They do have other brands of green olives.) They have a large selection of Kvuzat Yavne products which we love. Their Israeli pita bread is thick, fluffy, and chewy. We discovered their San Francisco Sourdough bread which was amazing! It was so fresh and delicious. They have Stern's Rugelach, which if you haven't tried it, is moist and flavorful. We particularly liked the vanilla. We picked up a package of Strudel Bites to give them a try. Yum! They were delicious too. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We look forward to our next visit and trying some of their other items.”

I love browsing each time I stop to see what's new and useful, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that they provide recycling options through TerraCycle for items that would otherwise go in my trash.     “We usually go to the Nokomis branch but saw the main store last week when they had a special sale event. There's a huge selection of earth-friendly goods and staples there, all of what the smaller store has plus more. We chatted with the staff who were very friendly and offered advice about the beeswax wrap I bought to try out. I'd recommend either store to anyone concerned with the environment and sustainability. Yes, you'll pay a bit more but it's worth it to know you're doing your part for the planet.”

    “Had their gyro topped cheeseburger with fries and they added cheese to the fries per request and as a combo before tax it was $9.99. I’d gladly pay double and still be satisfied. Also had another order of gyro cheese fries and legitimately top one out of the five I’ve ever had in my lifetime. Must go. The customer service is the best at a deli you could ask for. The cook is one single person running the whole thing while taking orders and to put out such quality food is a wonder within itself. I have no doubt that this deli will grow exponentially in no time. Please check it out and see it for yourself. There will be one thing on the menu that I will confidently say will be an instant classic for you. Give this place a shot if your in NE. You won’t regret it”

All 3 have self checkout kiosks, and open additional cashier lines if traffic is heavy. Great variety of cheeses at low prices, and imported pasta too. Aldi has added more easy prep frozen family meals in the past few years. They also have seasonal offerings, e.g. spaetzle from Germany, Christmas cookies, several other European cookies, imported coffees.”

  • Walmart Expands 30-Minute Delivery to 33 Markets

    Walmart wants your groceries at the door before the ice cream softens. On May 29, the retailer said its 30-minute-or-less delivery had reached 33 U.S. markets, adding a wave of new cities across the Northeast. Shoppers in those areas can order from more than 100,000 items, everything from fresh produce and baby formula to pet food, electronics, cold medicine, and prescriptions. Behind the scenes, the service leans on Walmart's store network and an algorithm that factors in order size, available drivers, and distance from the store.
