“We were referred to this shop by a family member who had been before and we were so impressed! We scheduled a 90 minute couples massage, and arrived a little early to look around first. Street parking was quick and easy. Our massage therapists were jace and henrietta, both wonderful, polite, and skilled. The few sentences of guided meditation during the massage helped us stay in the present and the snacks and tea served afterwards were a great addition to help us wake back up! We were so surprised with the oils that came with the package that we purchased and everyone was so kind. The cute pup made our day! Such a sweetie. Thanks again for the wonderful experience!”

“Very cool 0 waste store. they have a surprisingly large assortment of things for how small the store is. Everything seemed very high quality (the prices match that) and lots of locally produced options. The freshly ground peanut butter is amazing, so definitely give that a try! Looking forward to going back!”
“We usually go to the Nokomis branch but saw the main store last week when they had a special sale event. There's a huge selection of earth-friendly goods and staples there, all of what the smaller store has plus more. We chatted with the staff who were very friendly and offered advice about the beeswax wrap I bought to try out. I'd recommend either store to anyone concerned with the environment and sustainability. Yes, you'll pay a bit more but it's worth it to know you're doing your part for the planet.”

“There’s really no other shop like it. They carry high quality, cruelty-free and vegan products galore! From candy to clothing, gifts, and beautiful animal-inspired art pieces created by local artists all for sale here. Go check out the fox painting on their back wall- a masterpiece.
This non-profit organization uses their net proceeds go toward their animal advocacy campaigns, so you are helping animals and making a real difference by shopping there. There just aren’t any other shops that do that.
They offer volunteer opportunities, social outings, resources of all kinds, and maybe most importantly, a warm, welcoming vibe from shop employees, customers and volunteers alike. It’s truly a community of kindness.
They host pop-up events for local artisans to have an opportunity to get their name and their incredible, one of a kind products out to the public.
It’s a little bit off the beaten path at 48th and Grand, but well worth the trip.

“Flamingos is an absolutely magical place! I love taking out-of-town visitors there to introduce them to the quirky, silly, fun side of Minneapolis. They are consistently blown away by both the vibes and the excellent selection of vintage wares. It’s always a joy to peruse each room, and I often do multiple laps per visit. There’s so much to see, and I’ve found some incredible pieces here. My favorite finds are a glass butterfly lamp, a handmade teapot, two vintage teal wooden chairs, and a lovely original painting. My partner has found some incredible vintage men’s clothes too, especially flannels.”

“Based on gift delivery only: My friend sent me some adorable Mexican tin ornaments that the store shipped to me, wrapped cutely and safely first class mail in a bubble mailer with the price crossed off the receipt and a nice note from my friend so I didn't have to wonder who sent it. I think the store might be closed right now due to Covid, but if they are handling all their gifts the way they handled mine, this is a great place to consider your holiday or other shopping for friends who like fun, cute Mexican folk art!”
