Mill City Museum is a National Historic Landmark built within the ruins of the Washburn A Mill. It chronicles the flour milling industry through the eight-story Flour Tower elevator experience, interactive exhibits, and short films. The museum features hands-on activities, a Water Lab, and a Baking Lab. Visitors can learn about fire explosions from flour dust, see the water inlet and outlet from the turbines, and enjoy the viewing decks overlooking the falls. There is also a farmers market on Saturday mornings. The museum is surprisingly great with knowledgeable staff.
This is my favorite museum in Minnesota! It is great for all ages and a way to learn about our city over time.

So very interesting, especially for a newcomer to the area. Never knew how much of Minneapolis was built on grain milling.
