Worst experience we have ever had at a U-Haul location. Customer service rep was nice enough but not super motivated to help. She gave us the keys and told us to go find the truck in the lot, “it’s over by the curb”. There are 20 trucks in the lot and how to we know which one we are supposed to have? Truck was still covered in ice and snow from a storm 3 days earlier. No ice scraper in truck. She told us to pull it out front so she could check something. She had zero intention in helping. The lot was covered in ice and we were dragging our suitcase and dolly all over the lot trying to find said truck. We wasted 40 extra minutes of our 8 hour trip because truck was not ready. She planned to just hand me scrapper to clean it off. When we mentioned to her that this is not how U-Haul is where we live, she said “ yeah this is not a great location”. Umm, ma’-am? You work here make some effort to improve it!

Avoid this location, the employees don’t care about you nor their employer. The employees are watching TV and enjoy eating in-front of you. They won’t make eye contact with you and poorly represent the U-Haul Brand. The employees were ultra defensive and didn’t want to be bothered, they need help and don’t belong working in a professional environment. One of the employees smelled like marijuana. Avoid this location, sadly they won’t help you. It’s just sad and hope they find the help they need. Please do better.

I reserved a trailer online in advance which was guaranteed to be available. When I arrived, I was told that there actually wasn’t a trailer available and that I needed to go to another location in Hopkins.

Absolutely awful experience. I reserved a truck for 7am pick up days in advance which was confirmed and this location just didn't get a truck ready

don’t waste your time going to this location. no parking onsite so customers are forced to park on the streets of uptown. in addition it’s just sketchy.
i booked my move for 6:30 and an after hours drop off. upon arrival the worker told me that they don't allow that at this location anymore due to a large number of keys being stolen. which was not communicated prior
my options were to bring it back before the location closed (at 7pm) giving me 30 minutes to move my items or i could keep the u-haul over night and return it in the morning. when i told the worker i had no where to store the vehicle i was told it could be stored on the streets of uptown overnight because it isn't allowed to be on the property without the keys being returned.
so it was either perform the move in 30 minutes, store it on the streets of uptown and risk the vehicle being damaged overnight and potentially be liable, or return the u-haul to a different location for an additional 100 dollars.
i took my business and went somewhere else. i should have not been allowed to book a 4 hour rental at 6:30pm. my time was completely wasted going there because of the facilities inaccurate information online and lack of communication.
the workers were sitting doing nothing when we arrived. maybe they could have called to explain that to me before i showed up to my 6:30 reservation.

The worst truck and piece of equipment I have ever rented from U-Haul was not clean was not full of gas the back of the truck was not swept out it wasn't even closed when I got it upon checking it in the manager or the young person pretending to be the manager would not look at my pictures and match the time stamp idea that he did not even look at the mileage and the photos which could tell when they were taken decided that I was right in speaking to me in person then fraudulently charged me double cleaning and for 7 gallons of gasoline that were not contained in the equipment when I checked it out stay away from this location they have a fraud scheme in operation there these people could care less about your business or your move they are lazy and haphazard stay away from this location they will lie to you and then charge you behind your back, be warned they are fraudsters at this location!

 If you think to rent a $88 small trailer versus a $350 small truck (as we did), consider this:
- $30 charge for insurance coverage,
- $32 for a ball to hitch the trailer
- $55 for the wiring of the trailer lights
- $140 for installing the hitch lights wiring to the car hitch
Plus, we had to wait 3 hours to get everything installed in the car because the technician was not there.
The cherry on top is that the sales rep told me I couldn’t leave the parking lot without trailer lights AFTER the trailer had been attached to the car.
In summary the 4x8 trailer without taxes is $355 plus 3 hrs. Renting truck wins but not at this store. What bothers me are the unexpected expenses and the lack of information upfront before making the decision.

If I could give a Zero Star, I totally would-
I rented a 15’ U-Haul truck and told the guy working the counter that I’d be dropping it off in a different city. He said that’s fine there will be no extra charge.
3 days later I get a notification of “unpaid balances” on my U-Haul account so I investigated to come and find out that they charged me for dropping it off in a different city. Not only did the guy that barely could check me out scammed me but also a CSR rep over the phone whilst dropping it off. She assured me no extra charges would be applied to me for dropping it off at abc location. I am beyond livid with my experience with U-Haul that I am actually going to file a lawsuit. From the very intoxicated misinforming scam artists employees, to the really bent out of shape truck/equipment, and also the crappy customer service that did not want to fix this situation and make things right. That is my first and last time ever using U-Haul. And from here on out I’ll be sure to advise others to do the same. They stole $220 from me. The employees couldn’t even make sure the dolly I rented from U-Haul was in the truck. I had to go in there shitty garage, and go find my graffiti up truck outside. This place is super unprofessional

I would rate higher if the equipment was safe for the road. We found a burned out taillight. They sent us down the road to the next U-haul company to get a different two wheel dolly. This was an unnecessary delay in our trip.

What a farce wrapped in a fiasco. We reserved a 10' truck and arrived at the 3545 Nicollet Ave. U-Haul to find the "system" down. Fine, we'll work around it. No luck. The two fine gentlemen behind the counter were of no assistance or even faint interest. Flat affect. Even the U-Haul app wouldn't work on either of our phones. Call customer service. Wait on hold and finally reach a CSR only to be put back on hold and sent deep into the queue. No back-up paperwork system in place if the "system" faulters. After nearly an hour, we resolved to try another day. Those fine gents behind the counter: NO "we apologize for the inconvenience". Just blank moto-trons. Will try again in a few weeks with hopes the "system" is back up and the fine gents are not working(?). U-Haul failed at every turn. It was so bad that it actually became funny.

This location is in a rough neighborhood, but the staff is very friendly, and helpful. They seem to enjoy what they do, and that positivism is conveyed to the customer. If you run from this location, Just Be watchful for transients, and keep your vehicle locked.

I wanted to rent a uhaul on my last move. Was unable. Why? I literally couldnt get a real person on the phone. Bot after annoying bot telling me to download another company app. What happened ??? Lol
