Please get rid of Gene. He has been incredibly rude to me on multiple occasions, and a quick scroll through the other reviews here show many with the same opinion. I dropped off some prepaid packages into the bin yesterday only to be met with a sigh and an “oh god.” I’m am so sorry to inconvenience you, what else am I supposed to do with packages I paid to ship?My mail carriers and every other employee I have met at this location are top notch, but I dread having to talk to this guy. The postal service needs to fire Gene and Louis DeJoy in that order.

Sign says pick up window open from 1 to 330pm. Show up at 245 and can't drop off prepaid packages there even though they are actively working. No wonder USPS is struggling financially. They refuse to help people.

Horrible experience recently with Gene who yelled at me for ringing the bell after waiting for a lengthy time for service. Then when I suggested something regarding my fragile parcel, and requested it be stamped "Do Not Bend," he again shouted at me not to tell him how to do his job. I requested a supervisor, and he said none were available. Nasty human with a serious attitude!!

Sent a package from this post office just to have said package show up to the destination empty. Aside from filing a claim there was nothing I could do. The package was opened, the contents were emptied of everything & then sent on its way. Apparently the U.S.P.S. doesn't care about employing thieves & continuing to let them steal from us.

I’ve been selling more frequently on Poshmark which provides shipping. The first time I went to this location to ship, a lovely woman with reddish hair helped me and was incredibly kind. She explained the process (which truly she didn’t need to do, as it’s my responsibility) and I truly appreciated her help. I’ve sent multiple packages and assumed it was okay not to tape the label. Today, I was in line close to the closing time and Gene was working the register. Normally my interactions are fine and polite. Today, he must’ve been in a bad mood because when I approached the register he made a clearly disgusted face and made a comment about my label not being taped on. When I mentioned I hadn’t needed to before he said “Well you can read the signs”. So I just stared because I was embarrassed and had nothing to say. Gene, I’m sorry you were having a bad day and felt the need to publicly reprimand me. In the future, please know your actions are hurtful.

For 2 months I only received mail once every 2 weeks in a single bundle. Now it's been 3 weeks and no mail. I called and someone returned my call and said that I would get mail, and asked me if I wanted a job because there's not enough mail workers. I still have not got my mail. And now when I call the automated service says I can not leave a request. How can I pay bills if I don't receive them?

I don't know why the other people ranked this place low. It's nothing special, but as far as post offices go, it's fine and gets the job done.

I had a sender put the wrong address on a package and they found the box and I received it the next day! This post office is on it! They are always so friendly and helpful when I have a problem!

As someone who visits this USPS location almost weekly to ship a package due to my neighborhood location being rebuilt, I'm confused by all this praise for Gene. Not only is he extremely condescending to customers who ask questions, he always lets you know his displeasure when you have to send an international package. Unfortunately, he's often the only one working the counter when I go in so maybe that contributes to his bad attitude. Gene also clearly does not understand USPS policy in regards to re-using boxes that alcohol was previously shipped in. I've shipped re-used alcohol boxes at this location before both domestically and internationally while following USPS guidelines which require any reference to alcohol or the alcohol producer to be covered. I waited in line 40 minutes today with one of these boxes with the proper coverings just for Gene to make a scene and call me out while I was third from the front. A bit of back and forth ensued with him refusing to process my package. It also doesn't help that the line is often out the door and he receives no assistance from his co-workers who wander around aimlessly. At any other business another register would be opened to help alleviate the backups. The only redeeming quality of this location is the awesome to work with female who commutes from Wisconsin.

Gene is the best! So thoughtful and kind, and I never feel rushed or like I’m making his day harder. 20/10 post office experience because of Gene!
