The Hjemkomst Center is a local underappreciated treasure and cool little county museum. It showcases the area's Norwegian heritage and Scandinavian craftsmanship. The center features a beautiful, well-maintained ship with an extraordinary story that sailed across the Atlantic. The hand carved basilica church next door is mind blowing and beautiful. The facility is beautiful and well-equipped, hosting many events, weekly clubs, and a theater camp. The gift shop has a very cool supply of things. Staff are all friendly. It is an amazing and inspirational experience worth your time and money.
Absolutely fascinating story of Hjemkomst and Norwegian heritage and culture. A must see/experience when in the area.
