The Fargo Air Museum, established in 2001, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting interest in aviation through education, preservation, and restoration. Located just off I-29, it is a pet-friendly, easily accessible destination that offers a variety of aircraft exhibits, including military planes and full-scale historical pieces. Visitors can enjoy walking right up to the planes, exploring photos, stories, engines, and even a real cockpit to experience what it was like for airmen. The museum features indoor displays, ensuring weather is not an issue, and friendly staff are available to assist. While the collection is heavy on military aircraft and has limited General Aviation planes, many exhibits are interactive, though some visitors noted a lack of touch-friendly displays. Overall, the museum provides a worthwhile visit for aviation enthusiasts and families, with affordable admission and opportunities to see restored aircraft and learn about aviation history.
I've visited the Fargo Air Museum during airshows and trips to Fargo. The display is always changing and very interesting to see. The gift shop is amazing
