“At the age of 73, I joined F45 in Woodbury, MN.Purpose of joining has been to rebuild my muscular strength after an AFib ablation, a coronary stent implant, and a Watchman implant to allow me to go off blood thinners.I have sports oriented all my life; However, “Mother Nature” always has a different plan.I spend my time at F45 focused weight and strength training. My coaches, Shari and Nate, keep me focused, and make sure I am using the correct techniques and form. Granted, at 73, I don’t worry about style points… but I get a great workout, I have met some nice people, and I work on getting in shape with 36 sets of exercise in a 45 minute, session. ??”

“Throughout my life I have tried many different workouts to keep or get myself in shape. Since high school it has always been a struggle for me to find the types of workouts that truly improve my life. I would gravitate to lifting weights with some running for cardio, but they never really got me to where I wanted to be, and usually ended with me straining something. After 4 months at C1 I now realize why. My workouts never focused on making my whole body stronger. With the help of the coaches at C1 I am the strongest and in the best shape I have been since my mid twenties. And I am loving every minute of it. The combination of great atmosphere at the gym, varied and challenging workouts, and at home plans and trackers have provided the tools and accountability that have me feeling the better than I have in the past 15 years. The daily workouts are great because the coaches help each and every person get the most out of them. They teach you how to adjust them for your capabilities while still being challenged. The other members are always so helpful and fun to be around. I love getting in for the group workouts and crushing the workouts with a partner or two. Looking forward to the day when I can fully RX workouts on a regular basis!”

I was skeptical going into this gym but was overwhelmed with coach and owner Matt's knowledge and support. Being 55+ I was unsure if I could handle the workouts and was extremely impressed with the options and support from not only coach but the workout community. “The St. Croix Valley is LUCKY to have such an outstanding resource in our community. Dan, Nate and Brittany care so much about their clients. Our son participated in Dan and Nate's youth athlete programs for several years as a young hockey/lacrosse player. They have the right balance between challenging you while also making it fun. We still remember how he was awarded an orange Ethos sweatshirt as a reward for a summer of hardwork. As a teenager, my son had ankle surgery after a lacrosse accident and Dan helped him recover and become an even BETTER athlete than he was before. Recently I personally saw Dan seeking some direction on some foot pain I had been having. After one visit he wanted me to do the exercises at home and get in touch in two - four weeks. The pain continued and led me to seek further medical care. I learned that surgery was needed not physicial therapy. I really appreciate that instead of Dan asking me to return week after week, he took a very conservative approach. Such outstanding people and services!”

“Shari is an amazing instructor. I am a vet with some mental health issues and her time with us has left me feeling better than I have in a long time. Dealing with loss has made me lose much of what I was and she has helped us regain a semblance of who we once were. I highly recommend her. If you’re struggling and down and out, then use her services. It’s well worth it.”

“My son went here 2-3 years ago but quit due to our lives getting busy with other activities. He decided he wanted to come back and it's been only a week but he's happy he came back! All the coaches are great and super supportive, they always think of cool obstacles to makes the kids better athletes. Scott and Jacob do a great job and my kid loves going to classes they teach. It's a great place to get in shape as well, they have classes for kids and adults. Only downside: prices per month... it's $99 month to month or $79 month to month with a year commitment. I know they don't have a choice due to the inflation of everything but it makes it hard to stick around for a really long time unless my kid is very serious about it.”

“Doing a review for my teen as he is the one with the student membership. He enjoys the weight room area a lot as he spends a good amount of time there focusing on strength training and building muscle. He likes that there is a basketball court there too but wishes it was bigger with my baskets that are different heights. Overall, enjoys it and the protein smoothies.”

“This is a long overdue review. MHF has been my home gym for a few years now. There’s something special about this place.The culture was built and is maintained by people who walk the walk and truly love bodybuilding. The equipment selection is eclectic, hand-picked, and rotated just often enough to keep things interesting. In the end, a gym is only as good as its atmosphere. MHF has all the intangible things that create top tier atmosphere—for everyone.I’ve been to most of the gyms that advertise themselves as “bodybuilding” gyms within an hour of Minneapolis. I live in NE Minneapolis, and making the trip to Hudson is an easy choice every time. The drive can get long, but I have no doubts that training here is what’s best for my bodybuilding.”

“The Hudson Y is great. Most of the time everyone is friendly and approachable. Even when they look crabby they are still very helpful and friendly. The pool is nice and warm for kiddos, they have a ton of equipment. The lap pool can get kind of busy on some days. Other days it's pretty quiet. The GYM is kind of dark which is odd but not an issue.”

“Friendly environment. Its a facility full of nice, brand new equipment. I don't understand why some reviews are bad. It's 10 bucks a month, 30 cents a day to train there. Walk in, scan your little phone, take your pre workout, and go get in shape instead of being a whiney offended Karen.”

“This is from my experience, as all reviews are, but I think this YMCA is great. The main reason for me going is to lift weights, since that is my main form of working out. I have been lifting for 10 years and really see no reasons why you would need more than what they have, unless you're a beast. The dumbbells go up to 120, two squat racks, deadlift platform, two benches, incline/decline bench, and four moveable benches. Also, plenty of free weights to use for all of those. Every time I have gone, I am able to do my workout, without anyone getting in my way. Plus, the staff and the customers are all pretty friendly. As with most gyms, there are the occasional teenagers being disruptive, but that's to be expected of teenagers. Regarding their cardio equipment, they have plenty and a small track for people to walk on. Also, they have a sauna, hot tub, a pool, and a slide, which is pretty cool. They also have a cool young adult membership discount, which my wife and are a parent of, making it a great value. Plus, partnerships with most health care insurances, which lowers the cost even more! Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a reasonable and affordable gym.”
