“Well, I got an alignment done which I have been doing with this company for a few years getting alignments done on many different cars and when I got it back, it had a wobble in. I don't believe it was their fault to wait, had fallen off the tire so it did get back to the tire company I have the new tires put on. But decent companies. I don't know if they take it for a test drive after they do an alignment. You would think they would notice that before they return it to the customer. This is the main reason why I did not give them 5 stars.”

“Highly recommend Nelson's! Prices are always reasonable and transparent, and I felt they always went above and beyond helping us with repairs. We have an older car that we weren't interested in putting a lot of money into and they really understood that. They also surprised us by fixing our bumper that was sticking out a bit from an accident free of charge. We had brought our car in just to change the tires, and it was so nice of them to help with that too!”

“This is my auto repair shop, 4 visits. They are very honest. The first visit was due to a front brake that physically broke. I thought both brakes should be replaced (like headlights etc.). They checked the other brake and it was fine; they did not replace it. Many other shops would say both should be repaired but Midwest said no. It's still fine years later.Last visit I needed complete suspension replaced and fix my cruise control. I told them I wanted them to check over the car as I wanted to drive it another 50K miles. They fixed the cruise. A sensor on the muffler caused engine light to go on and that disables cruise. They checked everything and did not appear to rack up repairs. My car hood didn't close right before that visit. It closes perfect now! They just replaced little rubber washers the hood slams down on. That's detail. Nice to have an auto repair place I can trust!”

“Had a major steering repair done there. It did take a week to fix, and three months later the Sam problem happened. They did fix it again without charging me. The reason for 4 stars is that when they say they'll call you with a diagnosis, length of the repair, price, and when it's complete- they just simply won't. Communication with the customer is really a fight, in my experience.”

“Had a great experience here. Found this place through searching the Costco auto save program. I also needed a new local auto shop anyway since my move to St. Paul a couple of years ago. Convenient location close to the highway. When dropping my car off, I was alone (planned an Uber), but Rick asked if I lived nearby and needed a ride home. This was above and beyond service for me, of course. Very kind gentlemen. Couldn't get my sporadic car issue addressed since my car wasn't acting up at the time, and I appreciate their honesty to not waste time or money on it! I will certainly be back for that if it happens again, and other issues/services as they are needed! I'm glad to find a great place to bring my business to! Thanks, R&S!!”

“I was driving my motorcycle home from my winter storage and I got a flat tire. While waiting to be picked up, I walked around to see if I could find some sort of air option at one of the neighboring businesses. I was walking by Tom's business and startled him working after hours on his own vehicle. I told him what was happening and he said he would connect the hose to his building to help me out. I pushed the motorcycle his property and tried to fill up my tire. It was not working and he came out to check up on us. I have broken the bean (seal) and Tom grabbed some tools and started to try to help us selflessly. There were 3 different ways he attempted to fix the tire and the last one was a blast of compressed air that pushed the tire back into place. He told us about the charity work he does and his other hobbies (cars and motorcycles). He fixed it, check both the tires, and sent me on my way. I offered to pay him and I was so happy for the help, and he declined. WHAT A NICE GUY!! I do not live in the area, but I think I found my new mechanic. Thank you Tom!! “I've been pretty loyal to Brausen Auto, but I have had a suspicion that they are starting to really upcharge repairs in the last couple years. I looked around to other local shops, and had a great experience at Minnesota Repair. They quoted me $330 to replace the fuel tank straps on my truck. Brausen quoted me $600.Minnesota repair was able to get me in same day, but I opted for the next day (a Saturday). They had it all taken care of in 3 hours. No nonsense. They seem honest and hardworking and I really appreciate that.”

“Realized right before a trip that my car was 1500 mi overdue for an oil change; local place didn’t have any appts for weeks. I googled “oil change” along my route from home to airport and based on the reviews being better than the other places that came up, I stopped at Take 5. I am so glad I did! I arrived about 20 min before close and was worried that wouldn’t be enough time to complete the oil change but they got me in and out so quickly and efficiently. All the attendants were polite and helpful, what a delightful group of young people! I would definitely be a regular if I lived in the area.”
