“The team at Cyrus Artisan Rugs were extremely helpful during my rug selection process - patient, professional and knowledgeable. They operate on a higher level than most other rug stores I've experience which I noticed almost immediately upon entering the store in Bloomington, MN.

They have a huge selection but the showroom layout is easy to walk and all rugs are well organized by size, designer, origin, etc.

I made several visits to the store before finding exactly what I was looking for, and the team did a great job helping me narrow down my search - never pushy and always professional.

“I first walked into the IDC during the height of the pandemic and said I needed to furnish a newly purchased townhome, that I knew what I wanted but that I intensely dislike shopping. During the following months Dawn and Denise could not have been more helpful. They not only heard what I was saying, they listened. My time was never wasted and I was never pressured but was shown items in keeping with what I had said I needed and wanted. I do not live in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area so considerable communication took place by phone and email with Dawn always keeping Denise current as related to items under consideration and decisions made while Denise did the same with Dawn. Not once was there even the slightest miscommunication. When we learned due to the pandemic the factory in Finland had stopped making dining tables and chairs Denise contacted someone at the factory to ask if they could please make the one table and 4 chairs I wanted from stock on hand AND THEY DID!!! I was grateful beyond words to think she had done this and that those at the factory had agreed. Three times Kevin and Rick delivered items to my home and each time I was impressed by their work habits. Kevin is extremely skilled/talented and a strong leader and I appreciated how he appropriately mentored Rick relating to why things were being done as they were. Every piece was placed exactly where I wanted and I know had I not been happy they'd have moved them. Whether ordered from Finland or Norway or bought off the floor, I could not be more pleased with the quality of the many pieces from the IDC and as important, could not be happier with the experience I had working with Dawn, Denise, Kevin and Rick. They were exceptional.”

“This is such a cool little shop! They have the best seasonal gadgets and decorations and lots of other cute Knick knacks (which are not usually my thing) and other items that make the best gifts. They have the best Montessori style toys and the cutest blankets and keepsakes. The one major negative is that it is quite pricy, which is why I do more browsing than shopping! However, if you need a unique, quality gift, this is a great place to look!!”

“My Teacher had recommended me to come here if I was looking for a place to take classes over the summer. Me and my family had booked a few weeks in advance so we would have a spot on the date we decide to throw on the wheel. The class we took was 2 hours long. We got to make as much bowls as we wanted in that two hour frame, but we can only choose up to only 3 pieces to take home. We all had a fun time! The instructor was really nice and helpful when it came to needing more help on the wheel. If you’re looking for a fun beginners activity on throwing on the wheel, I would recommend this place. Their store is also so cute.”

“We usually go to the Nokomis branch but saw the main store last week when they had a special sale event. There's a huge selection of earth-friendly goods and staples there, all of what the smaller store has plus more. We chatted with the staff who were very friendly and offered advice about the beeswax wrap I bought to try out. I'd recommend either store to anyone concerned with the environment and sustainability. Yes, you'll pay a bit more but it's worth it to know you're doing your part for the planet.”

“Hobby Lobby has a lot of nice things, and they are not real expensive. This store is a good store. The only reason I'm giving it four stars is because they have limited all of their watercolor paints and papers to their own brand. In the past, they carried several really good quality professional watercolor paints and paper. I bought a tube of paint to see what the quality is like, but I have a hard time believing that it would live up to the professional watercolor tube paints that have been manufactured for decades and centuries. Other than that, it's a great store. Hobby Lobby also always has good sales. I do recommend this store for decor, lightweight furniture, seasonal and holiday items, and many more things. This is a good Hobby Lobby! ?”

If that is not enough, Mostafa greets you as a friend with sincere hospitality- offers Moroccan tea for all who linger and you should. Over the years, I have purchased ornate stamped red purse and wallet purse, vibrant cotton throw, leather sandals with carpet inlay, colorful geometric rug and I generally am not a shopper! All of my purchases I enjoy everyday- even wear sandals in the house in winter. Mostafa has such incredible connections to friends and family who make these beautiful handmade pieces with love and soul in Morocco. Please help the Moroccan artisans who may have been affected by the earthquake and consider stopping by and shopping at Dar Medina. Oh and I live in my cotton (not itchy) hat six months- covers and keeps my ears warm skiing- so cute!covers my ears keeps me warm skiing.”

“My 99 year old father in law sells his Antique Treasures here almost all the sellers are who are the workers there they each work 2 days per month when selling goods at this store... so if you get a bad experience with a worker mostly they won't be in there the next time if you try them again! Most of the people selling in there are Antiques Themselves! Nice people and caring you can offer them less it never hurts to ask. It's Great they have this place to keep them busy and memories of times gone by”

The staff was not able to return all of the items due to store policy however they did return a substantial amount of items. That made my trip worth the effort. “Flamingos is an absolutely magical place! I love taking out-of-town visitors there to introduce them to the quirky, silly, fun side of Minneapolis. They are consistently blown away by both the vibes and the excellent selection of vintage wares. It’s always a joy to peruse each room, and I often do multiple laps per visit. There’s so much to see, and I’ve found some incredible pieces here. My favorite finds are a glass butterfly lamp, a handmade teapot, two vintage teal wooden chairs, and a lovely original painting. My partner has found some incredible vintage men’s clothes too, especially flannels.”
