“I heard of this place many years ago, but last year I moved in the area and finally got to experience the store. I mainly come here for the massages - what for my attention at first was the BOGO massage offer. They still offer this deal, but it is limited to new clients only, The store itself has a lot of pottery and home decor from around the world. Most times I go in there for a massage, I end up purchasing either their essential oils, body sprays, or room spray.
Scott has a talent of combining scents well and the best part is they're not overpowering.
I primarily have seen Scott for massages. You can tell he's very experienced and knows what he's doing. He takes direction well and gives the amount of pressure you're looking for. Joshua is very helpful at the checkout and always answers questions I have about the products. Scott has a certain lotion there that helps with sore muscles or arthritis. I forget the name of it, but he let me try it and it really did work. It's a little on the expensive side, but it works marvelously and I plan to get that in the future.”

“We usually go to the Nokomis branch but saw the main store last week when they had a special sale event. There's a huge selection of earth-friendly goods and staples there, all of what the smaller store has plus more. We chatted with the staff who were very friendly and offered advice about the beeswax wrap I bought to try out. I'd recommend either store to anyone concerned with the environment and sustainability. Yes, you'll pay a bit more but it's worth it to know you're doing your part for the planet.”
“Love this store. I get my body lotion and general-purpose cleaning solution here, along with sundry other things for the kitchen and bath. I love browsing each time I stop to see what's new and useful, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that they provide recycling options through TerraCycle for items that would otherwise go in my trash. My only complaint is that I wish they were closer to my house, lol. Thank you, Tare Market!”

“Friendly and welcoming staff, and everything on sale is plant based and made with love. They sell delicious chocolates and wonderful little knick knacks of every sort from clothing and stuffed animals to cruelty free hygiene products and purses and wallets. “Flamingos is an absolutely magical place! I love taking out-of-town visitors there to introduce them to the quirky, silly, fun side of Minneapolis. They are consistently blown away by both the vibes and the excellent selection of vintage wares. It’s always a joy to peruse each room, and I often do multiple laps per visit. There’s so much to see, and I’ve found some incredible pieces here. My favorite finds are a glass butterfly lamp, a handmade teapot, two vintage teal wooden chairs, and a lovely original painting. My partner has found some incredible vintage men’s clothes too, especially flannels.”

“Walking through the Midtown Global market corridors we stopped at this place of African art that has jewelry, bags, clothing, masks and even drums that the boy who works there kindly played, showing his talent. “Based on gift delivery only: My friend sent me some adorable Mexican tin ornaments that the store shipped to me, wrapped cutely and safely first class mail in a bubble mailer with the price crossed off the receipt and a nice note from my friend so I didn't have to wonder who sent it. I think the store might be closed right now due to Covid, but if they are handling all their gifts the way they handled mine, this is a great place to consider your holiday or other shopping for friends who like fun, cute Mexican folk art!”
