Carniceria Valdez is a humble Mexican grocery with a counter in the back serving mighty fine Mexican food. It is a huge place where you can find just about anything, including a meat market stocked with a variety of cuts. The food is always on point and delicious, with items like chicharonnes, carne asada tacos, barbacoa tacos, gorditas, and chorizo all noted as excellent. Specific dishes receive high praise: the chili rellenos are described as heavenly, the menudo is some of the best, and it is one of the few places to find proper ingredients for recipes like chicken and mole. The staff is amazing, friendly, and nice, creating a good atmosphere that reminds some of home. It is considered a great example where the best Mexican food comes from a simple establishment rather than a high-end one, and it is highly recommended.

Food sits out uncovered too long, also i witnessed staff spraying chemical cleaner directly on the glass where the food is inches away.

Tried the beef tripe (menudo I think) and some chroizo at the cafeteria. Best tripe I've ever had in my life, it was all delicious. Plan on coming back later this week.
