What we thought might end up being a serious repair wasn't, and he had the time tonight to drive it, quickly put it on the lift, diagnose, and fix the noise we were hearing. Within literally 30 minutes we were in and out. I'll definitely be going back, it's so hard to find a good mechanic! (P.S. he has tons of unique classic cars around the place so if you've got one that has an issue, I'd consider calling him up!) He said himself he's most responsive in the morning and in the afternoons, because midday he's usually busy working on vehicles.”

“This is the best mechanic in Starkville!!! I’ve been to other mechanics in the area, and this is the most reasonably priced place that actually fixes the problem. I’ve been to another reasonably priced mechanic that misdiagnose the problem, worked on my car and did damage to plastic trim (albeit the plastic was old) but never fixed the problem and still charged. Another mechanic in town was just as quality, but over double the price. Additionally, Coles gave me a quoted price and accidentally misquoted a price of one component but waved the cost because they already gave me a quote. I should mention that even with a correct quote they more than likely would still have been much more affordable than my old mechanic. You can’t beat this customer service, pricing, and confidence that they will fix the problem with your car. 10 out of 5 stars!”
“My wife’s Audi Q5 broke down when visiting Starkville. The owner of A&R helped her arrange a tow truck and went out of his way to get her car evaluated and repaired. It ended up being an easy fix and he was honest and charged a fair fee. We really really appreciated his honesty and the quick turnaround. He runs a very busy shop and went above and beyond to help us. I highly recommend A&R.”
“I started back and fourth with Chris about getting an appointment scheduled for a suspected rear main seal on a 2010 Silverado. Since I had lots of travel going on around that time I put it on the back burner until I had also saved enough money for it. Once I was able to get serious about it, I called Performance Automotive on a Monday, I dropped the truck off on a Tuesday evening, by Wednesday at 9am I received a call back confirming the repair for a rear main, and had the truck back Thursday by 4pm. Very fast turn around.
I did some research on various shops around town, and I saw this name on a few facebook groups and reddit posts. This place is the way to go! The job was also very reasonably priced, especially compared to some other shops I had gotten quotes from (roughly $500 less on average).

“They told me on the phone that he can give me a better price when he gets to see the problem. Made appointment, he got the truck on the lift and looked at it. He walked into the waiting room and gave me a few options, then he said that would take about 30 to 45 minutes, and cost 100.00 wow that's better then 350. He told me I don't need the whole system fixed just one part of it. They all are very friendly and a place I will use again.”
