“The staff there are all great. They are overworked to say the least. I believe a company that wealthy, could surely afford to hire staff to come in and stock shelves and put away the supplies. Instead, they rely on the 2 cashiers they have per shift to handle customers and handle stocking. It is nearly all females that work down there, and stocking some of the items is difficult for them. Perhaps if Dollar General cared more for the employees they would have a lower turn over rate.”
“It's a very clean store with discounted prices. At checkout, you can also get some free items they have set aside. I got 2 loaves of bread, and 2 small containers of Choban yogurt. Just make sure to watch the expiration date on items.
BTW, they also had a few toys there that were nice.”

“The PARK HILLS store is fantastic! Since I was wrongfully banned from Farmington HARPS (see other reviews) I had to go to Park hills as my husband and I do all the shopping for my disabled parents and there are items that I can only get at Harps, unfortunately. But, the PH store was fabulous and clean. Plus side is...no one bullied me online after I left!”
“Love the surprise coupons on random products. Just because. You have to look for them on Wednesday and Sundays. 1$ off and sometimes 50% off. They won't scan that way, you have to call attendant, better off just going to regular checkout line because you'll have to call them over regardless.”
“Great staff. I will say that I see way to many empty slots where products should be. Often, I can not buy what I need as shelves are empty. This is a relatively new store and manager says they don't order, but the home office does. Really frustrating. Thanks”

As a forest native, I’m happy to report that with The recent new remodel this Summer 2024, comes a cleaner and more organized store. I personally enjoy the Autumn & holiday inspired mugs, & appreciate that they arent all religious themed. They are very well made, & im slowly growing my collection.
Something I’d like to touch on specifically, is a product we’ve had to avoid for the past 7 years now.. which is your bread. Before the remodel, the bread specifically tasted as if you were storing it with the strongest of fabric softener.
I’m very happy to say that all of the BREAD items now sold at Dollar General in pilot knob NO LONGER TASTES OF FABRIC SOFTENER. Its is now Clean fluffy fresh bread.
Used to, we’d have to make a separate trip all the way to Save A Lot just to pick up bread items because of this issue. I am also happy with the selection that I was presented with, and the cleaner store. But mainly, & most importantly, The Friendlier staff.
The cashier who checked us out, was very friendly, courteous, and funny. He took care with my items and related to how good the Ramen was that my husband picked up for me. I enjoyed my trip this time. And I hope it stays like this.
I would like to request If I may, that you keep a better stock of your smiles butterscotch discs, Your shin black Ramen packets, And if you could find Southgate Brunswick stew and beef stew, I wouldn’t have a reason to go to Town & Country anymore.
I’m very thankful that I no longer have to go across town just to get bread. And I’m also pleased to report, that no employee was high. lol giving a more stress free grocery trip. thank you?”

“It's Walmart come on, just about has everything! I love the Walmart + it helps me with everything I need. I can get delivery or curbside or shipping. I love it dont know what i would do without it! It also has alot of perks for doing walmart+”

“Mike’s market is a great place to shop! Yes, it is a little more expensive than going to a big grocery chain, but that is to be expected when it is the only grocery store in town. They are convenient and when I’m short on something it’s a quick drive there and back. They usually have everything I need. They also do a lot for the small community of Bismarck. I would recommend to anyone.”
