“we had our kiddos birthday party in the 1889 social room and it was perfect! the weather was nice and so opening the deck for the kiddos to play and run around at was great. the space is so beautiful and clean. tina was great and we will definitely be back in the future for other events!”
“It's great having a theater nearby that has comfortable seating. Not even the AMC has good seats in all of it's rooms. My only complaint is the bathrooms. They are in dire need of an overhaul. They smell absolutely awful.”

“Lynette at the front desk was funny & fabulous. The beds were decent. The fridge was not that cold, even on the highest setting & the ice maker barely put out ice. We also had issues with the air. The fan on the A/C unit wouldn't stay on no matter what we did. It kept kicking on & off throughout the night & woke us up multiple times, as it was a little noisy. The shower had good water pressure. The kitchen was well equipped. It would have been nice if there was a table & chairs to eat (or play cards) at. Overall, it was a good place to stay.”

“Standard hotel breakfast with sausage, potatoes, eggs, omelettes, biscuits, gravy and pancakes. Hot cinnamon rolls were a nice touch and welcomed surprise. Food was a little above average and all hot items were hot!”

“We are so happy we stumbled across Cakewalk Events! Everything -starting from scheduling an initial tour, to booking our wedding date/choosing our options, to the actual wedding day - was so easy!
Decor was simple & pretty. Guests loved being able to play cornhole and kids enjoyed coloring. You can’t go wrong with Jack Stack BBQ, cake was delicious, & coordinators, officiant, bartender the day of were amazing. Everything was seamless and on time.
We did the 8 hour rental without flowers/ photography. Payment schedule was easy and totally doable.
We didn’t have to communicate much with Amy & Kristen throughout the process but when we did all of our questions were answered promptly - they are both wonderful also!
If you’re wanting an all inclusive, simple, smaller wedding without sacrificing any of the traditional “wedding things” this is a wonderful place in the KC area!
