The chef was personable, friendly and did a nice job teaching about the different islands' cooking, plus we ate the rice and beans she made with the sofrito. Yummy! We all got to take home some of the sofrito, too! I'll be back for the pizza class in January!”

The atmosphere was like you stepped into a timeless place when you can truly unwind sit back and enjoy the best tea from anywhere around! This is top notch!”

“Unity temple has-by far-the softest toilet paper on the plaza, if not the entire Kansas City metro. I’m using it as I write this, and it’s just unbelievable how soft and sumptuous it feels against my skin. I dare say your life is incomplete until you have experienced just how soft and supportive their restroom tissue is, which also, mind you, happens to be a first rate restroom. Having experienced restrooms and lavatories all across this blessed country, I’m proud to call Unity temple my spiritual home, where even the toilet tissue has curative capacities.”

“Really fun and laid back spot. Apparently the owner is my second cousin once removed (I think) so my dad was excited to go here when visiting from AR. It was a beautiful day and I love that on such days they’re open to the outdoors. That plus some great early 2000s pop punk classics really made for a great atmosphere. I asked for their most popular drink which was their blueberry specialty cocktail. It was delicious!”

“My aunt and uncles have been taking their kids to Miss Dianna's for 10+ years. I've been taking my daughter for 3 years, and I couldn't be happier. The rates are low, the building is nice and big, 4 dance floors I think. They teach hip hop, jazz, ballet and other types idk... I've seen grown up exercise classes, special needs therapy, and ones for toddlers. The teachers are all very nice. You see all shapes and sizes dancing, I think this school has a more 'open door' policy than others. My nieces and nephews are on the 'larger' side, but they still get to go to competitions. I've heard that some schools discriminate based on body type - which seems pretty messed up. It's also neat to see my daughter take direction from the teachers, she certainly listens to them better than me!”

The security staff were extremely friendly and helpful both when dropping off and picking up mobility Scooters. “We booked 2016 Main for our wedding reception in October 2023 and can’t recommend this place enough for your event. The space is beautiful with a fun and unique atmosphere, meaning you don’t have to put a lot of effort into your own decor. Both the previous owner Pat and the new owner Nico were fantastic to work with. I felt they both truly went above and beyond during our wedding planning process to answer all of our questions and provide a lot of recommendations for us. And the actual day went perfectly thanks to Nico’s attentiveness and preparedness, reducing a lot of stress on our part. Thank you so much!!”

“We had a great experience using the Monarch Room for our wedding/reception venue. The owner, Megan, is very easy to work with and was helpful with our planning process. Shout out for being one of the only venues in downtown KC with the option to BYOB! There is a required charge to use the venue’s bartenders, but still well worth it. Venue is beautiful and was easy to decorate. Also she allowed us to bring our dog (best boy in our wedding party) so he could celebrate with us as well! Wedding was a great time!”
