“I didn't take any photos. I just enjoyed the music and the ambiance with the candles. I really enjoyed music even though I couldn't see the musicians due to alot of tall folks in the front. But that was ok as long as I could hear them that was all that mattered.”

The space is so versatile! We used the main floor for a bar/photo booth/high top area on one side, and the ceremony on the other. The top floor we used for dining, speeches and a bit of dancing.

And the incredible lower floor speakeasy area we used to create a living room atmosphere for a music lounge. We asked people to bring their instruments and we all enjoyed the musicians among us playing together in an impromptu way.

It was magical, memorable, and deeply felt. Union was the perfect place.”

“The Bauer was the perfect venue to have our wedding ceremony and reception! We worked with Emily and Erica. They were both very communicative and prompt. We knew we wanted to have our wedding in the Crossroads area in KC, so we toured several venues and instantly knew The Bauer was our favorite. The lighting, flow of the space, view through the giant windows, and vintage floor and wall are absolutely stunning. The bride and groom rooms are right off the ceremony space, yet very private which was a plus as well. We can't imagine a more perfect place to have had our wedding day!”

“My wife and I recently had our wedding reception at The Monarch Room, and from the moment we first toured the space, we knew we had found our perfect venue.

The Monarch Room is about as centrally located in Kansas City as you can get. Situated on a beautiful corner lot facing north-northwest, the space offers stunning views of the Kansas City skyline through its massive floor-to-ceiling windows. The exposed brick and tall ceilings create a unique atmosphere, both spacious and intimate at the same time.

One of the standout features is the bar. It’s perfectly positioned in the corner. Easy to access without ever feeling intrusive to the flow of the event. The backlit front is customizable, which added a personal touch we absolutely loved (easily one of our favorite amenities).

Another huge plus: the number of restroom stalls. It may sound minor, but anyone who’s been to a crowded event knows how big of a difference that makes.

The catering setup is also extremely well thought out. With access along the side and back of the venue, our outside catering team was able to move in and out seamlessly without ever interrupting the event.

If you’re looking for a venue that truly checks all the boxes, you’d be remiss not to consider The Monarch Room.”

“First, this library is beautiful. Secondly, the staff is just amazing. My printer at home had stopped working and I really needed some things printed off. I usually go to The UPS store but it was a bit out of my way. The library is right down the street from my home so I decided to call and ask if they could print some items for me.
The young man who answered the phone was so polite and nice. He answered all my questions. And even walk me through how to upload and print online.
I couldn't get it the first time I actually called back and spoke to another staff member and they were just as nice and helpful. I went to pick up my prince and was greeted with a smile by the young lady who was sitting behind the desk. It really made my day. “Nostalgic venue with easy access to seats. The parking is convenient if you're going to arrive early otherwise you may be parking several blocks away. That's but necessarily bad because the walks are pleasant enough providing the weather cooperates. The venue has great accoustics in my opinion and I've always been satisfied with the views from the locations I've been sitting in. I'm normally upstairs since I like a top down view of the performers. I know it's an older venue so in not sure of it's financial position but I sure would like to see them give the interior an overhaul and reopen the two balcony seating areas on either side of the stage.”

“We had our wedding there recently, and it was a wonderful space. We had 14 round tables set out and were able to have all our bridal party & spouses on the stage with us for dinner. We used the half moon for our sweet heart table and then two 8foots for the bridal party & spouses.

The getting ready space worked perfectly, and we got some wonderful pictures around the property.

I loved working with Sarah. The only criticism I had was when asking about how many tables in different sizes there were, I was always told that there would be enough. This made it hard to figure out how many table cloths of each size we would need, and how many of each size we could rely on having.”

“I had my baby shower here and it was absolutely perfect! We had about 40 people and it fit everyone easily with plenty of room to spread out. Owners Kristin and Savanna were incredibly helpful and communicative throughout the entire booking process and during the party. There was an event in the space the day before and we would have never known if they hadn’t told us. The space was spotless when we arrived! We were able to bring in our own food, drinks, and decor. Set up and tear down was a breeze. The freight elevator helped immensely. The perfect event space if you want something cute and modern in the heart of KC.”
