“There is slightly different entry setup from other locations, but this one is similar to German location. Vegetables are first. Ailes are wide, and access to items are not on tall shelves and accommodate wheelchair bound. This is the second time my credit car is blocked at this location. Not a fan of the self checkout here. Overall this place is at a great location with fresh vegetables and good cut meats, but questionable self check out stations using a CC.”
“Today, I was in Aldi to pick up a few things. I’d been to the doctor earlier and had blood drawn and of course I’d fasted and simply forgot I hadn’t ate anything. From the moment I got in the door, I started feeling crappy. I sat on the bench outside the door for a few minutes thinking it was the heat that was getting me down and once I cooled off inside, I’d be ok. Walking up and down the isles, I started feeling crappy again. But there was no place to sit down. I saw an Aldi employee and I flagged her down and just told her I wasn’t feeling well. Somewhere, a chair appeared, then she brought me ice water and cheese and crackers. She kept checking on me, and after about 15 minutes, I felt better so I kept shopping. By the time I got to the register, I thought I was going to pass out again. The lady at the register helped me back to “my” chair. I believe her name was Nancy and the first person to help was Ann. I hope I’m right about the names, I was kind of scatter brained at the time. They watched over me like mother hens, got me more cheese and crackers, Gatorade, a frozen bag of peas to put on my neck and offered me ice cream. Ann walked me to my car, put the groceries in. I hope you read this and know I got home fine and I think you two are wonderful people. I’m fine now, ate a bit more when I got home and took a good nap. This will always be my favorite Aldi and you two deserve a medal. And next time, I will eat before I shop. Hugs!”

“Snow Hill is a small store in the middle of nowhere. They look small from the outside but the magic starts when you enter and the people behind the counter always say hello and acknowledge your existence. That makes one feel kind of special. Snow Hill has the best meat cuts and varieties of meats anywhere in the region. They have an on-site butcher and get meats of many different kinds fresh. It is amazing how many grocery items you can get in this store considering it is not huge. There are bigger stores to go to within 7 to 10 miles from Snow Hill, but Snow Hill is special to us and we are very glad they exist right where they are.”

Walmart wants your groceries at the door before the ice cream softens. On May 29, the retailer said its 30-minute-or-less delivery had reached 33 U.S. markets, adding a wave of new cities across the Northeast. Shoppers in those areas can order from more than 100,000 items, everything from fresh produce and baby formula to pet food, electronics, cold medicine, and prescriptions. Behind the scenes, the service leans on Walmart's store network and an algorithm that factors in order size, available drivers, and distance from the store.
Trader Joe's keeps adding stores, and shoppers keep showing up. The California grocer has marked nine more locations as "opening soon," pushing its expansion into new corners of the country. The grocer also took first place in the American Customer Satisfaction Index's 2026 supermarket rankings. It has held a spot near the top of that list for years.
Target is rolling out its most ambitious store overhaul in more than ten years, with plans to remodel over 130 locations and open 30 new stores across the country this year. The retailer is also putting money into supply chain technology upgrades to keep pace with how shoppers buy today.
Kroger is spending $112 million to build two new stores and renovate 15 existing locations across central and northwest Ohio. The company calls it a "record-breaking" commitment to the region. The two new Kroger Marketplace stores will rise in Canal Winchester and Delaware, Ohio, each costing roughly $30 million to build. Kroger broke ground on the Canal Winchester location on March 19 at the southeast corner of Diley Road and Greengate Boulevard. The 118,000-square-foot store is expected to open in late fall 2026 and will create around 250 jobs.
Loblaw Companies Limited is putting serious money into its retail network this year. Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
