Gas Stations in Silex, MO

“I can't understand why anyone would give this place anything but 5 stars. My family lives an hour and a half away from this gas station, but it is the only gas station we look forward to visiting. We started using this station in 2010. It became special to us around our oldest child's 8th birthday. We were camping nearby at William R. Logan conservation area. It is a primitive camp site where you camp, hunt, fish, and have use of a firing range. I had asked my son what he wanted extra for his birthday if he did a very hard task while our family was there camping. Many grown men wouldn't have done it. Anything that we could afford was what we told him. He wanted a Hunts Brothers pizza from this Conoco. Nothing else. We could easily eat at a decent sit-down place off of US 61 or even go 15 minutes south to more expensive restaurants in Troy, or just got him something nice when we got home. No, he wanted one of these pizzas. He is now stationed in Japan, but we still go there every time we go to Wiiliam R. Logan or when we are out this way. It's now just my wife, our two daughters, and sometimes my oldest daughter's boyfriend. The staff has changed over the years, but they've always been like family, and the local population that also frequent this station are also the friendliest. We also buy gas there and make purchases based on our activities in Silex or at William R. Logan. This station will always be close to our family's heart.”

“They were so nice to my dog. She's an English bull terrier and can be intimidating. When others are nervous she picks up up that energy, she not aggressive but won't go potty or barks at a leaf stuff like that. They were so nice she actually started playing. when I gave her a banana, her favorite, she started just clowning around in front of their window. Tossing it around, acting like she stole it from me shaking at me, this was a 1st. on long car trips the little things make all the difference. Seeing my dog feel so comfortable, even happy with her audience, I can't thank them enough. Smiles are scarce these days, genuine smiles, WITH eye contact, WITH conversation!?...Well that's what life, to me anyway, is all about.”
