“Hands down the most knowledgable gear shop in Bozeman. A super dedicated staff with high levels of understanding in boot fitting, bike fitting, binding mounting, and general backcountry gear. They take a ton of time with each customer and have an incredible selection of highly curated, well-regarded brands”

“Bozeman Running Company: where your feet get treated like royalty ?
What a gem! My fiancée needed some seriously comfortable walking shoes, and this place delivered. The staff may look like they just graduated from high school, but don’t let the baby faces fool you—they know their stuff. Like, really know it.

They offered tons of options, explained everything with confidence, and even have a treadmill if you want to test-drive your new kicks like a pro athlete (or a determined mall walker).

Prices were totally reasonable, especially considering you’re smack dab in the bougie part of downtown Bozeman. Great shoes, great service, and great vibes. We left with happy feet and zero regrets.”

“Great store and great people! I always find what I need and then some. Dave is one of the best LGS employees I’ve ever dealt with! Highly recommend this store!”

“My experience at Play It Again Sports was 5 stars. Reilly stepped up when he could tell I had no clue what I was looking for when it came to skis and ski gear, and help me get completely set up within my budget for the slopes. His expert knowledge and kind demeanor really elevated my experience. His willingness to go above and beyond by searching through outside in storage to find the correct size boots showed the quality of his customer service. I would definitely recommend Play It Again Sports and Reilly to any friends or family.”

“Excellent experience fitting my wife for new ski boots. Kudo's to Robyn who took time exchanging an ill-fitting pair purchased in January and finding a great fitting model and suggesting inserts to optimize. We're intermediate skiers and the fit for comfort was more important than an extremely tight fit required by expert skiers. If you're looking for a new boot, find Robyn to help you out!”

“The ONLY place in town to get nuts and bolts. They are the only place that carries a large stock of grade 8 in bulk. At 5.99/lb, you're practically stealing it compared to $2-$3 per small bolt anywhere else. The also carry grade 5 in bulk at $3.49/lb. The only thing they're missing are lock nuts in grade 5 and 8. Stainless in bulk would be nice too.

Ace, home Depot and Lowe's only carry grade 2 in bulk. You might as well use plastic or duct tape than use grade 2. Kenyon carries grade 8 and 5, but not the quantity that Murdoch's has and at a premium per piece pricing (around $2 for a single 1/4" x 3" bolt. You can get close to 8-10 at Murdoch's for that price.)

Great place to search for random hardware for those head scratcher projects too. They have a lot of great stuff. Cheapest place in town for welding stock too. But they don't carry aluminum stock, unfortunately.

The older gentleman that wears the Air Force hat is always great too. Always helpful. Love that guy.”

“Zumiez is an incredible store with a big selection of clothes snowboarding and skateboarding material. And if you're looking for a nice good selection of stickers they always have a bunch of stickers to hand out for free. Everybody is always in a good mood there and they all seem like they're happy to work and provide very well customer service”

“The best stocked REI I’ve ever been too, with plenty of gear for backpacking, climbing, kayaking, biking, etc. But it seems this location has relatively poor customer service. The employees were somewhat cold, no one asked if I needed help even though a few of the employees were just standing around, and there were restocking boxes just laying around.”

“Fantastic selection of used and like new outdoors gear. A helpful staff and a lot of good deals to be found. Prices can be anywhere from 6-300$. If you have a specific need you will find exactly what you need at a much cheaper price than anywhere else. Great spot!”

“I’ve been going to the Powderhorn for many years, whenever I’m in town to visit family. It’s always a great experience. I enjoy looking over their used but high quality rifles and shotguns, and have bought many firearms from them. George Jr is always great to talk to. This store is an institution, and a refreshing break from the big box sporting goods stores.”

“Loose your skin glove? Forgot to pack thermals? Need new goggles??? Look no further! Found a great pair of DAKINE mittens for 48.00. Very happy with my visit. A must place to shop for your new gear or items you lost or forgot. The mountain giveth and the mountain taketh away. Lol

I didn't need new gloves but when a deal is staring you in the face it's hard to pass up brand new discounted gear.”

“Was surprised when I walked in. This is a really nice sporting goods store that has a lot of stuff for sports and has an awesome selection for shoes. Probably the only people in town that carry Project Rock apparel as I only thought Dicks Sporting Goods was the only one to carry his brand. Overall, it's a great store. It has a lot of MSU college clothing in it as well. Good store. If your wanting to find all your MLB hats, they got a bunch of New Era hats.”

“Great spot for a quick trip. Staff are available when you need them. If you do want specific information in a section (we were there for fishing gear and camping stuff) then most will be able to assist, but they usually have one person who will know quite a bit about the gear. Great deals on clearance stuff too”
