“This commissary used to suck but it’s definitely gotten better since we first moved here. I’m still hesitant to buy produce here though… always check expiration dates…”

“Always friendly and helpful staff. The general public is usually more mellow here than other big box stores. Their fruits and veggies are usually good- but bananas from here always seem off.”

“My doctor recommended a good size list of supplements for me, and I was having trouble finding the very specific ones around town (and didnt trust online). I ended up at natural grocers near enough to closing time that i was not going to be able to find all of what I was looking for. Eli came over and was immediately willing to help. They knew exactly where to find each of them and had so much knowledge to share about all of them and how they work best that was incredibly helpful. I would have otherwise had to do a lot of internet research on my own and would have definitely gotten overwhelmed. They did not make me feel rushed, even though the store was very busy, they were training, and they had other closing duties to attend to. They ended up helping some other employees while I finished looking around and then rang me up. Truly was so nice to see someone working in a store where they actually knew and cared about what they were talking about- instead of just trying to sell as much as possible. Definitely will be back!”

“Seemed like a clean store with alot of variety items you probably wouldn't find at a regular grocery store. But I've never in my life heard of paying to use a shopping cart or want to carry your purchases home in a paper sack. It was certainly an experience ...thank you.”

“Thank you for a friendly, inviting and helpful first visit. Fareway is my new spot. It's amazing how customer service and enthusiastic employees really make a great shopping experience! Even though the other place is 10 minutes closer you take the cake.... Looking forward to trying all the excellent meat fruit and veggie selection.”

“This location is pretty good. Clean store, quality produce, meats and deli items. Friendly staff. I will say they do stand out with their items being stocked more regularly, when compared to the other HyVee locations I've been to.”

“I was looking for prepared foods for dinner. I googled, and Super Mercadito came up with the hot food bar was fresh, and delicious. I got pork belly stews in salsa verde and carnitas. The carnitas was tender, juicy and a nice pork flavor. It may the best carnitas I have ever eaten.”

“The HyVee Deli is incredible. Fantastic selection of meats and cheeses, as well as prepared meals. The imported cheese section is robust, and whoever is their buyer must have quite a bit of experience. I highly recommend the store in general, and although the prices are the highest in town, you get the best selection and quality.”

“Love this store, great prices and customer service has always been way better than the neighborhood supercenter. (if you know what I mean) And you do! I didn't even have to say the name and you know what I'm talking about! Especially since the supercenter raised prices and customer service? Is gone there, infact flat out RUDE! I prefer Hy-Vee and infact I avoid the other whenever possible!!!”

“I was having an awful day and was dreading doing errands - as soon as my roommate and I walked in the store we were welcomed by Stephen with a warm smile and a wave. This was already a good start, but he then asked how we were doing, listen to our honest reply and wished us a better rest of our day, and then showed us the free samples he was presenting and offered some if we wanted. His kindness and gentleness was extremely appreciated and infectious - we left that interaction with big smiles and feeling we could get through the day. I heard him speak to others while we were shopping, and he continued his kind interactions even when being ignored he never let the smile slip from his face. I hope his work is recognized and appreciated because he is a wonderful person and I will be going out of my way to come to Cass St HyVee for him specifically.”

“My friends and I had a great experience, even though we hadn't intended to make any purchases; we were exploring. However, when we came across a food choice of goat, we couldn't resist and ended up buying it. We were able to get everything sorted out with a one-hour turnaround. I'd recommend trying the place out for all things live animals or some fresh produce.”
