“We’ll never forget the kindness and support we received at the Sinclair gas station in Oshkosh, Nebraska. Our car broke down in the middle of 100+ degree heat while passing through this small town on the way to Colorado Springs. The amazing staff invited us to stay inside the gas station to stay cool while helping us figure out what to do. They called around, helped us connect with a local mechanic, and treated my family with such genuine care. A huge shoutout to Gary, the local mechanic and true hometown hero! He not only took care of our car, but also drove us 1.5 hours one way to North Platte so we could get a rental and continue our trip. He kept our vehicle safe and worked on it while we were away, and had it ready for us when we returned a week later. When we came back to pick up the car, we brought them some Dutch bakery treats as a small way to say thank you—but no words or gifts can fully express how grateful we are. Oshkosh may be a small town, but the hearts of the people there are enormous. And don’t miss trying the gas station’s chicken tenders and sandwiches—truly some of the best we’ve ever had! We’re forever thankful for the incredible people of Oshkosh, especially the team at Sinclair and Gary. You turned a stressful breakdown into a moment of kindness and community we’ll always remember.”
