    “I have idyllic memories of this store from my childhood where starting in 1974 we would stop here to pick up necessities while visiting my Grandparents who lived in the 'big white house' on Farm Rd. Back then we nicknamed it 'the M & M store' because we were always treated to M & M's. There were inexpensive toys for purchase that we always looked forward to getting during our shopping excursions to help us pass the time. Neighbors relied on this store to get fresh milk and produce and it was a lifesaver as my Grandparents only went to Vegas once a month to shop at a full size grocery store. Over the years I continued to return to this store as an adult when I'd visit the Amargosa, and after my Grandparents died I would visit with Marta Becket in DVJ and get my supplies here. Sunny is a delight and it's been so heartwarming to see this formerly very rough little store turn into a very inviting shop & restaurant. I don't know when it first opened under the original ownership but the fact that it's remained a vital Amargosa Valley market these past 54 years for me is precious. Thank you Martell's for being a constant treasure in my life.”

    “Stopped at the Ruby Store and were pleasantly surprised. It’s part small grocery, part convenience store, with a food window in the back where fresh Mexican food is made to order. We had chicken tacos and a carne asada burrito—both were excellent. The house-made salsa was especially good. Simple place, clean, authentic food, and definitely worth stopping for if you’re passing through Amargosa Valley. 🌮👍”

    Kroger is spending $112 million to build two new stores and renovate 15 existing locations across central and northwest Ohio. The company calls it a "record-breaking" commitment to the region. The two new Kroger Marketplace stores will rise in Canal Winchester and Delaware, Ohio, each costing roughly $30 million to build. Kroger broke ground on the Canal Winchester location on March 19 at the southeast corner of Diley Road and Greengate Boulevard.     Loblaw Companies Limited is putting serious money into its retail network this year. Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
