“Not the greatest selection, it’s a smaller store than usual and the service gene is lacking in some of the employees, not unusual characteristics for a vacation town grocery store. But there are some great employees there, they work hard and are very helpful. Deb is the latest to go the extra mile in being friendly and helpful on my last visit.”

“The prices are a little higher than Walmart, sometimes a little cheaper than Smith's, but it's worth it for the quality of product Raleys puts out. For example; their bagels actually have that perfectly chewy texture vs the ones at Smith's/Walmart which just feel like rings of white bread. The sandwiches you can get at the deli are better than any sub joint in town.”

“Pleasantly surprised at the extensive stock of beer! And the prices were really reasonable! They have everything from snow shovels to clothing. But if you drive to Tahoe and up Kingsbury Grade without carrying your own chains, you should expect those to be expensive in a mountain convenience store selling them for YOUR lack of planning!”

“One of the cleanest most well kept Walmarts! Seriously, I enjoy going here, but I don't enjoy Walmart in general... The employees do a good job at keeping it clean. Excellent bathrooms and well stocked! When I was visiting Illinois, someone scoffed when I told them I shop at walmart... but truly this one is not your typical dirty store. It's a great Walmart!!”
“KARA gets a 5 ☆☆☆☆☆. My wife had an unusual thing happen at self-check out. She pulled out her debit card to pay..and the card flipped out of her hand. My wife called KARA over & she helped her look for her debit card. No where to be found on the floor. KARA even helped my wife go through her bags..asking permission first. Nothing. Then..KARA walked away..and quickly came back with a register key..and opened up the scanning screen..and there was my wife's debit card. Stuck in the screen..on its side. My wife was *overjoyed* she didn't have to report a lost debit card, cancel it & wait a week for a new card in the mail.
Because...KARA made the extra effort as a Smith's employee. Thank you, Kara.”
“If you're looking to save money on groceries, this is the place to come, just like the name implies. For better or for worse, it's never really crowded here and to the point, where you'll never really see more than 2 check stands open at any given time. At times, I do wonder how they're able to stay in business especially when the one on the north end of town is so much nicer and busier. That said, they're pretty well stocked but their fruits and vegetables can be lacking at times and sometimes, not as fresh as you'd hope for. However, their deli is great and their fried chicken is some of the best you can get or at least, in my opinion. Staff here is always friendly and that's always a plus.”
“We are lucky to even have a VERY small portion of an Asian selection in the "ethnic"grocery aisle. To have this store in a town as small as Tahoe is a god-send! I've purchase frozen Lumpia, Longnisa, Ube ice cream and Rabbit candy here... enough to curb my Filipino cravings until I visit family down the mountain. Don't hate on this small family owned business and don't expect to come to a small town and get Bay Area options, ya'lls.”
“I cannot say enough about the folks that bought this store 10-12 years ago. Our sons went to school together, but more than that this is an immigrant family that came here for a better life. I watched the husband work everyday, open to close, for almost the entire time hey owned the store and have so much respect for him. Great store and great family members run business. “As far as convenience marts go this place is top shelf. To c3cribs, that was not the owner. You had a one-off experience. Cesaer, same for you. And to Joanna, maybe you wouldn't buy those things from there. I ind it more convenient to get them there then go to the dollar store. But just out of curiosity why do you say it's a no-no? If you don't want or like it, don't buy it. The owner is an honest decent man. And almost all the workers he has are as well. Can't cull out all the a holes, no matter how diligent you are, one always gets through.”

“This is a really nice safeway at stateline lake Tahoe. It's especially nice because the selection is quite good, diverse and they even have vegan and healthy foods as well. There aren't a lot of big stores in the South lake Tahoe area.”
“Best Mexican Meat market in town. Lovely local family owned mom and pop shop. We regularly pick up their rice, beans, pico and chopped seasoned chicken or pork. It's so good! Grab queso and tortillas and dinner is done! Great selection of specialty items too. This week I also got some dog bones from them! My girls are SO HAPPY! They're huge. And so much cheaper than from the pet store, plus I'm sure better quality.”
“The bathrooms were very clean - unusual for Walmarts in general in my experience. I travel the country in an RV and frequent Walmarts everywhere a couple times a week. I commend whoever is doing the job of cleaning the restroom! The store in general was very clean and the workers seemed friendly. My only complaint is a few of the items I wanted were out of stock, although the store seemed well stocked in general. Too Good VANILLA yogurt is always hard to find nationwide. The vanilla flavor seems to be the first out of stock. Maybe increase the inventory on it! Also and maybe I was t looking in the right area, some more variety in high fiber lower calorie flatbreads. There was lots of tortillas so I chose that instead. In general Walmart is doing better on healthier food options. I’d like you to see them concentrate on more foods without toxic seed oils. They keep improving and listening to consumers so I’m hopeful! Good job Walmart in Carson City for having a nice experience overall!”
“It's Dollar General it's exactly what you think your experience is going to be. However, they have a wonderful employee his name is Marcus that is the guy you want if you need any help or questions. He has very dry humor but he's very serious about his job and that I respect”

“After dinner, I dropped in with my partner for some groceries for breakfast the next morning. Got eggs, bread, orange juice, and champagne for a great price. We entered our rewards number which took off almost $12. The store was surprisingly busy for a Monday night at 8 o'clock however, there were several check stands open with short lines. Our cashier was friendly and chatted with us while speedily checking our items. The store was clean and the shelves were neat and stocked.”

Everyone has been very helpful and good explanations for why a medication wasn’t ready or that they needed to order something that was different from what I was expecting. They have also been very kind to me when I was confused about a certain order. I think they get very busy and work as best they can to help everyone.”

“I absolutely LOVE grabbing a sandwich here any time my wife and I pay a visit to the Genoa Bar. The Jalapeno Popper Grilled Cheese Panini is just awesome with a cold one and I always get it with their super tasty potato salad. If you're just passing through town, it really is a great place to grab all kinds of lunches and of course, there are tons of cool gifts and fun nicknacks that you can buy as well. I should note, it's been a few months since I've last stopped in, the summer of 2024 to be exact and I sure hope they open again as I do see it being listed as 'closed' right now. Heck, I may have to drive by just to make sure.
Parking: There is limited parking immediately out front but there is plenty along the streets and for free.”
