Grocery Stores in Hawthorne, NV

“I saw a few bad reviews and it made me hesitant to even go in the store, but having just moved here I knew I had to finally check it out, and… I have no issues except that a few staples like fresh veggies and fruits ARE Hard to get a low price on unlike if you live in a much bigger area.
Prices are higher EVERYWHERE! This store really wasn’t too bad (coming from a VERY FRUGAL PERSON!). If you live here all you have to do is shop a little smart. They actually have very good prices if you take advantage of their weekly ad, be selective, and try to use the app too.
It’s hard seeing many things double than what I’m used to, but using what deals they offer I’m very satisfied waiting for the next deal to put in future meals.
AND, I was blown away how nice the manager(I assume) was to spend time with me out of nowhere to help me with their app and genuinely giving her time helping me with information to my experience when she clearly had many other things to do… and I used the time of many other employees in that first trip just trying to save a buck and all of them helped me without complaints.
So thank you Safeway employees:) I’m someone who likes as much info to help me stay as cheap as I can in the situation I now find myself living in.. and Loving Walker Lake and the supportive community of nearby Hawthorn.
I had to come back and add a side note: I really ended up being a quite difficult customer! I am a penny pincher, but I gave them a little patience and they continued to be patient and helpful to me when many of them would have been justified not being as helpful as they all were, thanks guys(and girls).:)”

“Affordable. I shop here first before Safeway because I can get same or similar generics cheaper. No bread section. Lots of everything though organized neatly. Employees very friendly.”

“Having lived in Hawthorne now for a few years, I can honestly say that this store definitely tries its best with what it is provided with, and happy to report that maybe corporate is now willing to invest more into this store. It is much more organized now, and management is always pleasant to speak with, even if its just casual conversation while shopping. The big plus - the store now offers fresh baked goods like cakes, cookies, donuts, etc. Now all they need is a real full-service deli counter, although there really isn't anywhere to put that. Produce is still hit and miss, though. And the Just4U app is flakey, often unclipping virtual coupons prior to checkout, but cannot blame the store for that.”
